A 51-year-old Stockton man was indicted last week for offenses connected to a robbery at Fire Wings last year, according to the United States Attorney’s Office Eastern District of California.
Douglas Piggee Jr. was charged with Hobbs Act Robbery, brandishing a gun during and in relation to a crime of violence, and being a felon in possession of ammunition.
Piggee allegedly robbed employees of Fire Wings restaurant on July 21, 2022, using a loaded Polymer 80 Glock 19-style handgun that was privately manufactured, federal prosecutors said.
Previously, Piggee was convicted of seven felonies including an armed bank robbery and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
At the time of the restaurant robbery, he was prohibited from having firearms or ammunition because of his prior convictions.
Federal prosecutors said if Piggee is convicted of the offenses he will face a minimum statutory penalty of seven years in prison and if he is given the maximum punishment, he will receive life in prison and be fined $250,000.
