Boston Market, located on Contra Costa Blvd. in Pleasant Hill, has permanently closed.

A sign on their door announced the news.

We reached out for comment, but their phone appears to have been disconnected.

Thanks to Jason for the tip.

Sad. I liked having that option available in my variety of food. They seemed to be unable to find anyone that would work. The manager seemed to always be the only one working ever since covid.

It seems like alot of business r closing Why????? Togos on willow pass is closed,I think lugies deli will be closing no customers they close by 2pm all employees that use to be there have left the quality of food is awful!

Mr. Pickles swooped in on Lugies. They have been on the slow decline for years. You need cultured people to appreciate a place like that. Unfortunately they have so many menu items it’s impossible to not waste food with the amount of traffic they get.

Mr Pickles also bought the Cheese steak shop on clayton road. Unfortunately their service now and food quality are now much less satisfying, doubt ill go back anytime soon. Sucks these big companies buy up the lil guys and just kill the food quality/business.

Always liked Boston Market, sad they are gone, the food was good most of the time, but the prices just kept going up unfortunately, recently prices were more than double what they were a couple years ago and not worth me stopping for lunch anymore, $15-20 for basic lunch is wayyy too much for me to afford.

No one wants to work anymore. A lot of people have found the government gravy train.

What government gravy train? You cannot get unemployment unless you have been working and are laid off, if you quit on your own you won’t get unemployment, to get disability is not that easy, you have to have a fairly severe disability and it has to be verified by a doctor and then I believe there are a few more steps before you get approved.

I have a family member who “retired “ in her 40’s on fake disability. She just says ouch when at the doctors office or the three fraud interviews. She now happy works an active job under the table

Have you reported her? or do you just enjoy complaining about others riding the gravy train?

The gov’t would be paying her retirement-she may have had a disability policy she purchased if injured on the job. Your comment has -0- to do with why Boston Market closed and has nothing to do with unemployment/Covid related unemployment.

Yeah WTF Rich…you are part of the problem

Why Luigi’s? It’s because of the recent historically inflation and the California taxes & regulations that are destroying small businesses. And, to boot, why would anyone work a minimum wage job when it doesn’t come close to providing a decent living, especially when the democrat government will pay more to not work(if you vote them).

can you post a link to how to apply for one of them job that democrat government. is paying folk not to work.. cause we know any fool can. say. stuff without fact. But you not of those folk right..

Try calling up the landlord at Luigis and tell them to get the phone fixed so they can take orders again and fix the heat. That shopping center needs a wake up call.

Pretty sure they’re planning to tear the place down & build something else. They wouldn’t renew Alpine Pastry’s lease. Doubt they’ll put a cent into that building if they don’t have to.

That’s too bad l use to go there once in awhile. Have not been there for a long time though. At Easter time the use have ham with sliced apples in a cinnamon sugar sauce that was really good

I had no idea this place was still open. I rarely go down this part of pleasant hill.

At one time we would go there on a regular basis. But one time there was a massive grease spill blocking the door and once we got inside the place was trashed with garbage covering the entire floor. We never went back.

That sounds pretty authentic Bob…. or have you never been to Boston?

It would have been less effort for you to Google it than to write that post.

Thanks to Ray Mcfroggy’s outstanding question & prompt, concise answers from Whatever, Bella, Jason & Rocketman all of us now know precisely where Boston Market was! Kudos to all…. a job well done.

And Google never adds much to the conversation.

Less effort to Google, but more fun to post.

I went there with my Aunt and two sons a couple of weeks ago after picking up glasses at the Lens Crafters. The employees were super nice but the food was disgusting. We would have been better off stopping at Safeway and getting frozen meals. Non of us took more than a couple of bites of what we ordered….

RAY MCFROGGY – Courtyard Shopping Center next to LensCrafters/Staples off CC Blvd. Hadn’t gone in years. Deja vu. Daughter picked up eyewear and wanted to meet there. Glad we did.

: It was on the corner of Contra Costa Blvd. and Monument (by the hotel). In the same parking lot as Rite Aid and Staples.

In the same parking lot as Rite Aid but it’s in the front toward Co Co Blvd.

Several years back while I was still working in Pleasant Hill, I would occasionally stop by for lunch and they made great turkey sandwiches. Thick cut slices of turkey on a roll, it was good. The management was top notch and had the place clean and running like a top. After they left, the place went downhill after that.

Oh yea…The old PayLess store. Next to the Pleasant Hill Motor movies drive in.

The place has gone down hill since 2018 unfortunately and their food was horrible. But yes a lot of places on monument blvd and that area are closing. Pretty sad thank you to our government for getting people to not want to work. So glad to be out of California.

Yeah! Well….. that didn’t work!

Got food poisoning at Bostom Market several years ago. Never went back. Sad news about Luigi’s. I’ve been there a few times. They’ve always been good. Seemed to always have a crowd around lunch and dinner time. The staff was kind of grumpy on a few visits!
