Antioch Police Officers Save Suicidal Man’s Life

Antioch’s three newest Police Officers, Officer Kawalya, Officer Riosbaas, and Officer King, saved a man’s life last night.

The following is from the Antioch Police Department:

Our dispatchers received a call from a United States Veteran’s Suicide Hotline, and they stated a male called them repeatedly saying he was going to end his life. The male refused to provide his location. These three Officers recognized his name from previous investigations and began looking for him.

They ended up locating him walking down Lone Tree Way in Antioch. They spoke to the male and got him resources which prevented him from ending his life. We are fortunate to have Officers Kawalya, Riosbaas, and King working at the Antioch Police Department and are thankful for their dedication to the community.

If you or anyone you know is experiencing suicidal ideations, please call or text the suicide hotline at 988. If it is an emergency, please call 9-1-1.

Wishing them all the best, and many years of honorable service to the community. Well done, officers. And hoping for the best for the individual they assisted.
