Poor coyote, probably confused by all this water while looking for food.
This coyote was spotted this afternoon near Alberta Way and Park Highlands, just north of Clayton Valley Charter High School in Concord.
Thanks to Monique for posting on our Facebook page.
Cats and small dogs, . . . . . dinner on four legs.

“Confused by all this water looking for food’

No. Coyotes look for food at all times – regardless of the rain.

We have a coyote in Martinez that walks thru the neighborhood almost everyday at the same time. At this point we see it and it sees us. It’s almost like no one is afraid of each other. We even have cats still roaming the streets. I guess we have plenty to eat around here.
He’s just looking for the roadrunner, beep beep.
Don’t be surprised if you see these wanted posters.

556 round traveling at 1200 fps will solve that issue.
Not wise to celebrate a coyote looking for your pet in the middle of a residential neighborhood- you may find your dog or cat carcass on your driveway. The coyote is looking for his take out meal.
Great video, Monique! Thanks!
Extremely clever animals. I hear they are used to guide people across the border.
