About 700 people are still without power around the Babel Lane area of Concord.
As we previously reported, a tree fell on power lines, and is currently blocking the roadway.
It’s unknown when power will be fully restored, and there’s no estimated time when the road will reopen.
Thanks to Kirk Jones for the photos from the scene.
Glad it was the Eucalyptus tree on Babel and not the one on Clayton Road in the El Monte Center.
In some brightly lit and warm corner office in Sacramento sits a State legislator drafting a bill to have all trees within felling distance of any power line to be inspected and regulated at the expense of its owner through general property taxes, assessments, registration fees, renewal fees, and inspection fees.
.
It will be touted as “common sense” and promoted thru “the abundance of concern for public safety”.
PGE already wanted to cut down any trees threatening their power lines several years ago. As you may figure it didnt pass.
