Additional officers from the Concord Police Department will be on patrol Jan.6 from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Concord Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol.
Some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.
Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with DUI will pay a stiff price: an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Resources should be diverted to public safety related to the storm.
I was scanning too quickly and read that as officers would be looking for drunk/drugged joggers.
Fix the potholes! ( not an original comment )
Yesterday, next to Hilton, 3 foot by 5 foot pot hole Willow Way on way to Home Depot from Diamond way. Large chunks of asphalt littering side of road likely from rims , on vehicles with skinny tires, hitting edge of pothole. Wonder how many bent rims ? ? ?
Thanks for the heads up on the crater
I was going there today
