The Martinez Refining Company is alerting residents of planned, unplanned, and intermittent flaring that could occur during their upcoming maintenance project, known as a “turnaround.”
“Although we always strive to minimize flaring, the potential for flaring increases during shutdowns and startups. Planned flaring primarily results in the combustion of treated process gas, hydrogen, and purchased natural gas,” according to the Martinez Refining Company.
Here is the current flaring schedule associated with their maintenance project slated for early January, which could be subject to change:
• Planned Flaring: 1/3 through 1/8: Visible to 680 Freeway and Marina Vista Ave.
• Potential Intermittent Flaring: 1/3 through 1/20: Visible from 680 Freeway and Marina Vista Ave. 1/3 through 2/5: Visible from Pacheco Blvd.

Evil Racoons may be conspiring with squirrels, beavers, and California minx!
At Chevron they would install equipment before a Turnaround to help avoid flaring.
Sure…. laugh it up. The fact of the matter is that the Chinese military sabotage division has been training raccoons to infiltrate and sabotage US power plants for a couple years now.
