Police in Oakland have arrested a suspect in connection with the theft of an ATM in early November.
The suspect was arrested Thursday after arriving at Oakland police headquarters to retrieve property. As a result of the keen eye of an Oakland police officer, the suspect was recognized — from surveillance video at the time of the ATM theft — and arrested on the spot.
On Nov. 6, police investigated a robbery that occurred at a business in the 8400 block of International Boulevard shortly after 1 a.m. During the incident, three individuals entered the business and loaded the ATM into a vehicle prior to fleeing the scene.
During the initial investigation, investigators obtained surveillance video of the suspects stealing the ATM.
The investigation remains active.
Police have not released the identity of the suspect arrested Thursday.
That ATM theif should maybe just stick to “grab and go” store robberies and carryiny BLM signs…just a thought.
