I’m not a believer, but if it’s true I’d like to come back as a solitary old lady’s spayed indoor cat. Just eat and sleep all day, wake up, eat and go back to sleep…. repeat…
I believe that bad ideas are often reincarnated but I’m not sure about people.

I believe a main idea of reincarnation is that we are not aware of our past lives, which would reduce all of this existence to a cosmic practical joke. That would explain a lot.

Is that where you return as a flower after you die?
Well you might return as a flower or maybe as a bug or a moose…..
A woman that I used to work with was a big believer in reincarnation….She held a “come as you were” party. She said just about everybody showed up dressed as famous or infamous people from the past….No just regular, run of the mill people. Apparently everybody used to be Napoleon or Catherine the Great or whatever….
Jpr : Okay, so everyone doesn’t come back as a carnation. I guess that’s a little more comforting

I have a suspicion, Yes. I have a hummingbird in my yard that I would swear is the reincarnation of someone I know who has died. If you study the topic, however, it is not just as simple as returning as something or someone else. There are prescribed levels of existence and the choice is not yours. It is based on your good works in life, somewhat like admission to Heaven, to put it very simply without going into a lengthy theological discussion.

You betcha, and I’m gonna come back as Mickey Mouse. He’s always happy, never grows old, doesn’t have to worry about anything, and is loved the world over.

I don’t think that reincarnation is something to “believe in”. Rather, I think that it is that some people can feel that they have been around for awhile. Whatever the truth may be, just keep doing good in the world and learn from your past.

Not really. However, as a very young child, perhaps 4 o 5 I remember when it was cold and snowy in Denmark, I would see babies in babycarriages, all tucked under warm quilts and blankets, and I thought to myself, when I become small again I want to remember how warm and cozy it is in the baby carriage. I guess no one had explained death to me, or if they did I didn’t listen. By the way baby carriages at that time, was big made out of steel and had see through plastic cover half way up the hood, so it kept the wind out. Also in Denmark often people will put their babies outside for their daytime nap in the carriage, as long as it is not snowing or raining. I guess how you get use to the cold weather. I would ride my bike in the snow or rain, and I don’t remember complaining about the cold. Now I have been in California too long and am use to a warmer climate.
Great reading: your souls plan by Robert Swartz. We are inhabited by an eternal “soul” that travels between the spirit world and natural life. The soul chooses its life and life challenges prior to incarnation. Very interesting stuff.
