Contra Costa Water District Project Begins In Pleasant Hill’s Gregory Gardens Neighborhood

Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) is starting work to replace and upgrade over 2.5 miles of aging water pipes in the Gregory Gardens area of Pleasant Hill.

The older pipes in this neighborhood have a history of leaks, which result in costly repairs and disruptive water outages. When complete, this critical infrastructure upgrade project will improve water service reliability in the neighborhood.

To improve fire safety in the neighborhood and to meet the latest standards for fire protection, CCWD will install additional hydrants in the neighborhood.

CCWD anticipates the construction of the entire project to be completed by the Summer of 2024.

Doesn’t seem equitable. Let’s halt the project and debate this for a year.

Yes, a ladie was tired of waiting in line at CVS, picked up her purchases and walked out.Cashier said nothing

I’m surprised they did not expand the project a little. 100 feet to the north of the red line on the map is the intersection of Lucille Lane and Kathleen Drive where there have been several recent and significant water main breaks. Gregory Gardens has always seemed like a mysterious maze to me as streets connect or don’t connect in odd ways as a couple of creeks cross the area.
