UPDATE: 5.0 Magnitude Earthquake Reported In South Bay

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake centered east of San Jose on Tuesday morning could be felt through much of the Bay Area.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck at 11:42 a.m. and was centered about 12 miles east of San Jose.

No information was immediately available about possible damage caused by the quake.

Did not feel it in North Concord, but surly do feel some of those low flying planes that seem to no longer be restricted for sound and altitude over our neighborhoods.

A 5.0 is quite a shaker, surprised I didn’t feel it.

I was on a walk at that time and didn’t feel anything. Back at home an alert popped up on the phone. The alert needs a better design because it only gave the distance and not the location.

I was in a hangar at Reid Hillview Airport in East San Jose and noticed that the hangar doors were rattling, like somebody was shaking them. I was standing and didn’t feel the ground shaking though. Strange.

Missed it again.
