The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it.
The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon.
Today’s question:
QUESTION: What local restaurant would you recommend to a friend who’s visiting from another area?
Talk about it.
Chopan Kabob (Afghani) on Monument, particularly the tandoori fish. Also, Eureka! makes very good, albeit expensive, burger, with a location also in Concord.
Nan & Curry – It’s hot but great!!!
Barney’s
Walnut Creek Yacht Club
My daughter and I found a Burmese restaurant on Salvio St. across from Totos Santos Park, I think the name is Aung Burma. The food was good and plentiful, the service was good, and the price was a lot lower than I expected. Burmese food is similar to Thai food.
Ok I’ll say it …Olive Garden
The Casa Orinda would probably be my 1st go to establishment. The veal is absolutely excellent and of course
the Fried Chicken is outstanding. Prime rib, steaks, lamb and on and on…
Not quite as local as I would like but I enjoy Texas Roadhouse. There are 3 of them around here but each is about 45 to 60 miles away from each other. But one you have cross the bridge to get to in Fairfield.
Fiore’s on Clayton Rd. Halfway between Lucky’s and the empty old Kmart.
Its a small place, but has a nice ambiance. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. My go to whenever I want something nearby, tasty, and affordable. High end dining on a budget.
Creek House for Chinese, Kevin’s for Vietnamese, Parma Deli for sandwiches, Flemings for steaks, would have voted for Scott’s in WC for fish but they’re gone as original El Charro for Mexican food
