As we previously reported, Concord police are investigating two shooting incidents that happened Friday evening and early Saturday morning.
Police were called at 7:33 p.m. Friday to the area of Monument Blvd. and Virginia Lane, where they found a male subject suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower leg. He was taken to a local area hospital for treatment. Police are still looking for the suspect, according the Concord Police.
In a separate incident police don’t believe was related, officers responded at 5:01 a.m. to a report of shots fired on the 1800 block of Sunshine Dr. They arrested one subject for allegedly being involved with the shooting, but no one was reported injured.

That is the bad part of town. God bless the people that live there. I try to avoid it at all costs! I’m more worried though, about the crazy drivers there, and most don’t have insurance or legal status, and often don’t drive that well.
Garbage government moments. Seal that area off with a 3 mile radius with local and state police and national guard. Immediately stop and ID all on street and go door to door doing citizen checks. Round up criminals and illegals (illegals are criminals duh). Do that in all California cities. This is ridiculous everyone knows where the illegals live clear them out get rid of this problem once and for all watch the crime rate dip and our tax revenues go up. Healthy societies don’t allow this nonsense enough is enough.
This is why you’re not in charge of things lol. Most of those “illegals” are just families with parents that work and kids that go to school, that unfortunately have to live around this mess. And a lot more of them are documented than you would think. Most of the crime in this country is committed by American citizens. Stop blaming immigrants for all our problems. Your “solutions” wouldn’t save any taxpayer money, in fact they would waste time and resources chasing a problem that isn’t as big as you think. Bring out the National Guard? You are delusional
I was over that way on Friday evening about 6:30, there’s quite a number of guys just hanging around. GTFO there as fast as I could.
There are many families who live in the Monument Corridor. Kids who have to walk to school or play there. I feel for those who don’t have the option not to live there.
