Here’s an old newspaper advertising the arrival of the 1958 Oldsmobile at Lehmer’s in Concord.
Lehmer’s, as most of us know, is Concord’s oldest business. They opened in 1929 near Downtown Concord, and they’re currently selling vehicles at their dealership on Market St. at Willow Pass Rd. in Concord.

Lehmer’s original location was on the east side of Galindo about a block north of Cowell Rd. My Granpa bought a new ’52 Super 88 and a new ’63 Dynamic 88 from them. I got to drive the ’63 a few times long before I got my license, he would let me go for a quick drive whenever I washed it, a “spin dry” so to say. I washed it every chance I got.
Don’t you wish you had those rides now, @nyte? Especially that ’52?
And across the street from Lehmers Olds was the Fosters Freeze hamburger stand! And boy were their hamburgers good… with the thousand Island dressing they put on them. French fries too, were tops.
Knew of Lehmer’s before I knew of Concord. Grew up outside of the area, however in1975, brother acquired a ’65 Olds 442…w/Lehmer’s license plate frame. Twas a good looking car and quick.
My parents bought cars there

Later on I worked there

They also sponsored one of the first Little League teams in Conocrd – The Rockets
My Dad bought a blue Pontiac GTO from them in the early 60s. I remember walking up and down the stairs to their office in the sky.
