Additional officers from the Concord Police Department will be on patrol tonight from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Concord Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
I wish them luck in catching the guilty.
👍🏻
Divert some of these funds for red light & stop sign runner enforcement. Visit ANY intersection in Concord anytime…
DEFINITELY!! I can’t believe how many cars keep turning or going straight through the intersection after the light has turned red!! SO dangerous for the rest of us!!!
red light & stop sign violations are also a sign of possible impaired driving. Stop them and it’s a twofer…
Cite all who are stopped for the violations.
CPD; you can arrest more than 2 if ya’ want.
Remember: This is the time the cops start writing tickets to earn money for Christmas.
I see they omitted the part that says it could cost up to $13,500 in fines and attorney fees. Is it because we found out that Laura Hoffmeister was fined $2000? I mean, even with attorney fees, court costs, and the DUI program, she will not be paying anything near $13,500. Why can’t they ever be honest? Then they wonder why the public doesn’t trust the media.
+1

Please patrol Clayton rd ,kirker pass, and baileys.
I think you meant “Bailey” Rd.
Bailey’s is an Irish cream liqueur made of cream, cocoa and Irish whiskey.
How about all the homeless people walking around on drugs
