Yes. Looking forward to King Will and Queen Kate. We get Captain Pantload and “Dr” Jill. See the difference?

Roz September 12, 2022 - 12:32 PM - 12:32 PM

@ Noj
Agree
Think Will & Kate will do well when their time comes.
If I live long enough to see it …. LOL!

Darwin September 12, 2022 - 1:18 PM - 1:18 PM

@Noj
I hope your right. It seems like the woke are trying to rewrite history

Hanne Jeppesen September 12, 2022 - 8:13 PM - 8:13 PM

That is not always the case, depends who is president. Jack and Jackie could hold their own against any royalty, supposedly Queen Elizabeth felt upstaged by Jackie,

Ricardoh September 12, 2022 - 12:10 PM - 12:10 PM

I hope so. I thought it would have a better chance if they would have skipped Charles and put in William and Kate. The crown brings in a lot of money to England. It’s sort of cool to think there is still a king or queen around. We don’t have to dump all tradition. They haven’t much power but they do good things and the Brits love them.

Hanne Jeppesen September 12, 2022 - 8:22 PM - 8:22 PM

Ricardo, You are right, royalty brings in a lot of money. I made the point on another post (politics) that countries that have royalty is part of their history and tradition. My native Denmark is a monarchy, our Queen is very popular, as is the crown prince and his australian wife. We are the oldest monarchy in the world, and Queen Margrethe’s mother was a Swedish Princess whose mother was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. I do support that royals now can marry commoner, brings in some new blood and usually makes for a happier union, as the pickings from royals only is rather slim. Our queen married a french count, one of her younger sisters a German prince, there are several countries in Europe, where the monarchy was dissolved, but the descendent still have titles. The other sister of our Queen, married King Constantin of Greece, in 1964, they had to flee Greece in 1969 when there was a revolution in Greece.

Cellophane September 12, 2022 - 12:18 PM - 12:18 PM

I really don’t know, nor do I care all that much.

Whethere the Kingdom lasts a longer or shorter period will depend on a great many vairables which are unforseeable.

It would be fun to watch if it does, kind of sad if it doesn’t.

Reekorizzo September 12, 2022 - 12:21 PM - 12:21 PM

Heck!…are humans gonna last another 100 years??

🤔

Hill September 12, 2022 - 12:25 PM - 12:25 PM

Hope not and probably not. I don’t think we need to have these links back to the dark ages. I don’t think we need to warship people who became rich and own lots of land that gained from slave treading and keep the poor down.

hanne jeppesen September 12, 2022 - 8:24 PM - 8:24 PM

There is not need to worship royalty, if they became rich by owning land and slaves, that is not so different from what happened in the US many years ago, the US and countries with royalty have moved on, modernized and are now more good will ambassadors, most don’t have much power.

Janus September 12, 2022 - 12:26 PM - 12:26 PM

A better question is will the United States of America be around in 100 years?

The Magic 8 ball for me reply “hazy, try again” but I was afraid to…

Bob September 12, 2022 - 2:01 PM - 2:01 PM

Wait, its still around???

Dawg September 12, 2022 - 12:39 PM - 12:39 PM

It’s been around for over 1,000 years, and it seems most Brits are happy with it. If they did away with the monarchy, then it wouldn’t be a kingdom anymore, and they’d have to change their name.

CalOldBlue September 12, 2022 - 2:27 PM - 2:27 PM

I’m not sure the Welsh and the Scots agree with you. English, maybe, Northern Irish sure. But you said ‘Brits’.

Martinezmike September 12, 2022 - 1:09 PM - 1:09 PM

In the dystopian furture, there will only be drag Queens

Bella September 12, 2022 - 1:35 PM - 1:35 PM

Yes. The Royals have a huge amount of power due to their birth.

Aaron M September 12, 2022 - 1:37 PM - 1:37 PM

Polling says support for Monarchy has dropped about 10% in five years it’s around 60% now I think, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it dropped below 40% in the next 20 years. Pretty sure there will be changes eventually. It does seem like having a symbolic head of state is useful for unburdening the PM when it comes to diplomatic relations. Not that that is enough reason to keep the system.

S September 12, 2022 - 1:39 PM - 1:39 PM

I recently read an opinion that American’s aren’t qualified to answer such a question.

🙂

Ricardoh September 12, 2022 - 4:44 PM - 4:44 PM

Have you ever seen videos of guys that go to public places and ask one random person at a time political or history questions? They don’t even know what country’s border the US or who was the first president. From there it gets worse. I just hope these people are not voting but I bet they are.

FPN September 12, 2022 - 1:56 PM - 1:56 PM

I share grandparents with the Queen and now the King. People enjoy the Royals the traditions. They will be around a long time.

Ricardoh September 12, 2022 - 4:45 PM - 4:45 PM

I am related to Louis the 14 and I am not even French.

Dr. Jellyfinger September 12, 2022 - 6:10 PM - 6:10 PM

I thought I was Napoleon ……

(I got better)

Mika September 12, 2022 - 2:04 PM - 2:04 PM

Who the eff cares? Look at their history. Horrible people.

Dr Jellyfinger September 12, 2022 - 3:26 PM - 3:26 PM

My hatred of royalty began when I was a small child.
I’ve never forgiven the King for his half hearted effort to save Humpty Dumpty… all the King’s men were worthless, and all the King’s horses? What the hell were the horses expected to do?
My opinion was that the King gave Humpty short shrift!

Well, some years later as I dug deeper to find why the King made no serious effort to save Humpty, I found the original story differed from the later version… perhaps the King was not involved at all!

As originally reported in the 1810 version:

Humpti Dumpti sate on a wall,
Humpti Dumpti had a great fall;
Threescore men and threescore more,
Could not place Humpti as he was before.

And….. in Mother Goose’s Melody, 1803 The last line was the only difference between it and the modern version: “Could not set Humpty Dumpty up again”

So, after deep analysis it would appear that Dumpty may not have been fatally injured after all and the King may not have ever had anything to do with the accident…. if it really was just an accident !
Never the less, I am reserving my right to hold royalty in contempt until I know the full truth of the matter.

Badge1104 September 12, 2022 - 4:41 PM - 4:41 PM

I hope the English royal family will still be around! It does offer stability in the world.
I’m very afraid of the supposed woke taking over the world: that will be like a science fiction horror movie! They have no problem with stomping out others in the name of their new woke culture. A new woke language, new woke morals. Etc. We could see the ugliness and horror that has already brought in it’s infancy … Full tilt and will mean intolerance, persecution, and hell for everyone else who is note woke. Like I say a science fiction horror movie.

Ricardoh September 12, 2022 - 7:51 PM - 7:51 PM

Doc take my word for it he was dead. I was there. He was a scrambled egg.

Dr. Jellyfinger September 12, 2022 - 8:02 PM - 8:02 PM

Was he…. pushed?

Ricardoh September 12, 2022 - 10:05 PM - 10:05 PM

Is the pope Catholic?

Rollo Tomasi September 12, 2022 - 2:14 PM - 2:14 PM

Who cares? Thousands of patriots fought and died for the right to pay zero attention to those inbred dimwits.

Hanne Jeppesen September 12, 2022 - 8:27 PM - 8:27 PM

It is a free country you don’t have to pay attention to them. They have no power over the US.

Rollo Tomasi September 13, 2022 - 1:11 AM - 1:11 AM

I made no claim that they have any authority, but look at the media attention they’re given in this country. It’s pathetic that anyone gives a crap.

LocalAntiLib September 12, 2022 - 2:35 PM - 2:35 PM

Honestly I could care less what that damn family does over there. They need to seriously get more experienced dentists over there before anything else.

Dr. Jellyfinger September 12, 2022 - 6:01 PM - 6:01 PM

I agree with you LAL.
General Dentistry and Orthodontia are sorely lacking in G.B.

However, I “couldn’t” care less…. to say I “could” care less implies that I do indeed care to some degree (and I really don’t).

Aunt Barbara September 12, 2022 - 5:01 PM - 5:01 PM

The Hollywood drama Queen caused irreparable damage to the Monarchy and ol’ Andrew didn’t help any..

Exit 12A September 12, 2022 - 5:53 PM - 5:53 PM

.
The British monarchy will endure longer than the UNITED States of America.

PO'd September 12, 2022 - 7:18 PM - 7:18 PM

For me, it’s a tossup. Since Queen Elizabeth was holding the Monarchy together, it remains to be seen if Charles can maintain to tread water and not rock the palace. The future will fall to William and there is no guarantee that the Royals will be at all relevant by then. They would have to remain scandal-free.
However, after 1000 years of the monarchy of Great Britain, it would be tough to imagine a country who respects tradition more, not to continue.

hanne jeppesen September 12, 2022 - 8:32 PM - 8:32 PM

I think the monarchy in Great Britain and other countries, my native Denmark included will survive, it is part of history and tradition, and Europeans are more tied to tradition than American’s, this is neither meant as a virture or critisisim of American’s, more a fact. From the reaction of the Queens’s death the monarchy is obviously very popular, as is the Danish Queen who has been queen for 50 years, I won’t say ruled, because she does not rule.

Dr. Jellyfinger September 14, 2022 - 7:19 PM - 7:19 PM

All the old chicks I know are really into the Queen’s funeral & all the fancy ceremonial shtick leading up to it…. I mean they are really digging it, it’s amazing!
Alas, it is all drawing to an end, say there Hanne… how old is the Queen of Denmark?.

Bad Nombre September 12, 2022 - 9:10 PM - 9:10 PM

They may call themselves the House of Windsor but to me they are still the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

Dr. Jellyfinger September 13, 2022 - 4:17 PM - 4:17 PM

Who cares about House of Windsor?
I’d rather be at The House of Blue lights!

DB September 13, 2022 - 9:14 AM - 9:14 AM

I thought our country fought a war in 1776 so that we didn’t have to care anymore…

Hanne Jeppesen September 13, 2022 - 12:02 PM - 12:02 PM

There is no accounting for taste. I don’t understand anyone cares for the Kardashians. Fortunately there are many stories on the internet and we can each chose what to read and watch
