Caltrans will close a southbound lane of Interstate 680 at the Benicia Bridge at 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday this week (Sept. 12-15), due to biennial structure inspections.
The far-left lane will be closed until 1 p.m. each day while the others will remain open.
Motorists are encouraged to reduce speed and be alert while driving through a work zone. Caltrans assures motorists the bridge will be safe for travel.
Thanks Claycord!
I will make a note for my Hubby for his travel from work at Valero to home in Concord.
Shouldn’t they do this on a Monday afternoon of a 3-day weekend to screw up returning traffic?
.
“…encouraged” to slow down?
.
Common sense would say the lane closure and personnel on the roadway require that it be treated as a construction zone with a reduced speed.
.
.
Nothing to worry about folks, just checking to make sure the bridge won’t suddenly collapse and send us all plunging to our death.
