The two inmates who escaped from the Marsh Creek Detention Facility (MCDF) in Clayton are still missing, according to the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff.
Gerardo Ramirez-Vera, 33, of Richmond and 28-year-old Jorge Garcia-Escamilla of Pittsburg were reported missing around 11:20 a.m. on Sunday.
Ramirez-Vera was convicted of weapon, burglary, and vandalism charges. He was due to be released in the first week of January 2023.
Garcia-Escamilla was being held on charges of vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, and drug possession. He had a court date in three weeks.
Both men now face felony charges of escape from a county detention facility and face a potential state prison sentence.
Located at 12000 Marsh Creek Road in Clayton, MCDF is a minimum-security facility that houses sentenced prisoners and those facing lower-level charges that would likely result in a sentence served locally.
An emergency count was conducted when the men went missing and a comprehensive search of the facility and the immediate area was conducted. Local law enforcement agencies were notified and residents in the area were alerted.
If you have any information on their whereabouts, please call the sheriff’s office dispatch at (925) 646-2441.
.
CA’s criminal justice and correctional system has become a total joke.
.
Exercise your 2A rights if you come across these clowns… or if they come across you, your family, or your property.
.
That place is so lackadaisical and pathetic these two prisoners are probably sitting in their cells and the amateurs that run that place out there don’t even know it.
Someone must have picked them up. Check the border.
No they took off to Bells beach in Australia to catch the 100 year storm for the biggest waves, come on Johnny ! I said two Utah !
Lemee guess, stellar examples of CA’s educational system.
Each having skill sets employers aren’t particularly interested in.
An as to facing a potential state prison sentence for escape
thanks to AB-109 passed, by super majority DEM controlled CA state legislature, in 2011. Convicted Felons with multi year sentences no longer automatically go to State Prisons to serve their sentences. They may serve sentences without ever leaving CoCo county.
State doesn’t pay to house them CoCo county taxpayers do.
For more of the above, continue to elect DEMs.
I takes about 10 hours to get to mexico. They are long gone hombre.
there’s some type of individuals that even Mexico doesn’t take back + this guys will only make it here in California USA and live good and protected with the kind of crime there doing and basically no jail time and tell me if I’m wrong , all there dirty lame crimes done no other country will be giving them the royal lifestyle people like this scumbag are dirty and will be torture decapitated who knows what else because it’s not acceptable don’t get confused with a sicario or cartel employee they don’t do the same line of work in Mexico will not survive more than 1 year + @T least Jorge Garcia is from El Salvador and he is not going no where close to his native MS-13 grounds
@SAM
+1
Someone made a poor decision to send them there instead of the West county facility.
Bad nombre exactly and that dude that was not even sentence was going back to court in 3 weeks, how can it possible be ( and then under investigation for some real serious case back in may or DA just going to charge 1 suspect and let the rest free with no jail time, cops/detectives know what time is it , i was told never seen or witness anything but was told exactly how it shows in the web, news etc,)
Years ago, around the late 1980’s, one or 2 men escaped, walked along the creek towards Clayton, walked up the creek’s fairly steep hill and got into a back yard in Dana Hills. Then he opened an unlocked sliding glass door, took a wallet out of a purse he found in the house, and walked to the nearby club house where a CC bus regularly stopped back then. They caught him on public transportation traveling north. I think she was home and didn’t know anyone had been in the house until she missed her wallet.
Well… you wake up in the morning & hear the work bell ring
Then they march you to the table you see the same old thing.
Ain’t no food upon the table and no pork up in the pan.
But you better not complain boy… you get in trouble with the man!
You can say someone with weapons and burglary charges are non violent but speaking as a formal criminal myself, everyone I know with those set of skills eventually committed violence during a crime and were sentenced to prison. Many many years. These are pre cursor crimes showing a tendency towards career criminality these are not petty crimes. Most people don’t steal cars or breaks into buildings. We aren’t talking about petty crimes here.
Im 100% with you as a formal criminal my self i learned a lot and turned my life around before I started robbery I never stole nothing but was a matter of time before i did everyone around was doing it and only people that been inside like us know what’s up with how laws have not been that now like it’s the best time to be a criminal crook burglar
Most of the time they don’t even make nothing $$ out of the stuff they stole or even know what it use for , but costing victims hard work to save for those items a lot of the stuff just piles up under bridges and encampment that still ends up costing $$$ to city crews to clean up
If Gerardo shaved his head and beard, he’d look a lot like the fellow I passed on the street yeasterday.
I didn’t realize that until now.
I hope these guys are found soon.
We need a return to posses and vigilante justice. We can no longer depend on the police or our current court system.
I liked it when every store owner had a sign that read (looters) will be shot. Did I spell that right?
“You loot, we shoot” ?
No matter what plan Government officials do it will never work out with out having people that been in, like you need a criminal to take down a criminal , and stop being soft and human rights that’s bull, this people are to protected that needs to change but until people start doing what the government doesn’t they prefer to announce that don’t use your Rolex watch what do they mean don’t use your Rolex so why even bother to buy one if you can’t use ur watch in walnut creek Hollywood any place in USA at day time we have ruined this country instead of fixing the threat
Any updates. Other local blogs are saying one in custody.
