UPDATE: Chick-fil-A To Present Design Plans For Proposed Concord Restaurant

Chick-fil-A will present plans this week to Concord’s Design Review board for their proposed restaurant in Concord.

The 4,947 square foot restaurant would be located in the Willows Shopping Center on Diamond Blvd., on the site of the former Claim Jumper restaurant. A lease has already been signed between Chick-fil-A and the property manager. The company only needs to go through the approval process with the City of Concord.

If constructed, this would be Chick-fil-A’s first restaurant in Concord.

I love their chicken sandwich. The Chick- Fill- A in Walnut Creek causes traffic to back up on to North Main Street in the middle of the day. A second location should help with this.

How about a cut through to the Veranda parking lot? Kinda dumb to have to go out to the Main Street to hit the next strip mall

Bring on the Bird !

A big win for The Willows

No kidding!! That place is slowly dying

This sounds like a slam dunk. Who wouldn’t want the sales tax revenue??? Oh wait, the city of Concord.

I would never ever eat there

Halley… and? No one care.

What’s bad about new tax: revenue for Concord from a good restaurant? I won’t have to go to Walnut Creek, and the food is darn good.

Won’t eat there due to conflicting religious beliefs.

Stop.. no..don’t..come back…

Devil worshipers don’t account for much of their customer base…. but some still sneak thru now & then… good chicken!

😂🤪😂

This isn’t an Airport. Nobody care about your departure. 👋👋👋

I stopped doing business with Chick-fil-A after I just recently saw a few of their stupid commercials overflowing with the woke movement ideology.
Good riddins!

Yeah like what? Be specific.

I haven’t seen that… got a link? I mean, I looked, but no luck.

You must be thinking of some other company, Chick-fil-A is anti-woke, and libs want to boycott them…

I only saw it once, looked for it but no go, most commercials out now are woke as hell and I don’t pay attention but this one just got noticed more.

I hit Popeyes occasionally since it’s much closer living in Clayton so even this new location I ain’t driving to that one either.

I would have liked to see this Chicken Joint in the Staples/CVS Shopping Center at Treat and Clayton Road or at the old KMART on Clayton Road. Both of these lots have ample room for all the long car lines.

Not enough vehicle traffic for them to go that far off a main freeway

You wouldn’t prefer something more generally useful there like Trader Joe’s? I feel we need to attract more value-add business in Concord than fast food.

You could put a Chick-fil-A on the moon and there would still be a line.
They would do fine at the old K-mart & people would go out of their way to get it. Traffic from YV Rd. & Claytyon Rd. Hell yes they’d be busy!

Way over rated. Been there twice won’t go again.

says the person who loves KFC.

KFC is a medical test for memory loss. Every X number of years you forget how gross KFC is, and you again decide to try it. If X is less than 1, you are in real trouble.

Alot of us really love KFC, been eating it since we were children.

….. been in the works for a looooong time… they wanted to take over the burned out buffet place on Willow Pass around the corner but the city was concerned about traffic … this is a much better spot… although imho Popeye’s sandwich is better but Chick Filas has better options and more variety .. it’s a win for Concord

Yep… Lin’s Buffet was located in Danzig Plaza. Chick-Fil-A is not metal enough to open there.

I ate there once and it was OK but maybe I didn’t order the right thing. So what is the thing to order?

I love their sandwiches but my favorite is the spicy one with pepperjack cheese. I usually don’t get it with the lettuce or tomato. I’ll put a little bit of mayonnaise on it or one of Chick-fil-A’s many sauces.

That’s the one! The pepperjack cheese makes it really good.

Great news! The current council would vote for this for sure.

All candidates for the council should be asked whether or not they would support it.

That decision is a HUGE step down as the anchor tenant of The Willows!

Which means there’s going to be a problem parking for other restaurants and shops. I still think the best place for this is the lot in front of Lowes. Popeyes chicken sandwich is much better than Chic Fil A, but I love me a frosted lemonade.

Lowe’s would be a choice spot. But the peach milkshake is unreal.

tried in on a few occassions…

no big deal to me…

but then again… what do I know…

I don’t like the Olive Garden either

How dare you diss the most authentic Italian cuisine on the planet. Take it back

Dear Sam,

I am so very sorry for my disrespect. I hope you cam find it in your heart to forgive me.

Please accept my apology,
S

We ate at chick fil a today. Got the Southwest salad for the first time. It was very good and filling. The inside of the restaurant is always clean and employees friendly and helpful. When we go fast food, this is our most frequent choice.

The wife pointed out that we have a KFC, Zaxby’s and Chick fil a all on the same side of the street within a couple of blocks of each other. Popeye’s is on the other side of the street. Boogangles is on a different thoroughfare.

Why not eliminate the drive-thru option. A little walk before loading up on fried food never hurt anyone.

Bring back claim jumper
It was literally the only location to close of the franchise

The parking lot now is striped for cars 20 or 30 years ago. The new vehicles and family trying to enter or exist can’t even stick your leg out while the next person already is impatient to take your spot. Really a shame. I have witnessed arguments break out over anything. Not a safe situation.

It’ll be interesting to see how they work out the traffic patterns.

Hopefully they have a better traffic plan than In-n-Out on Pacheco

Popeye’s is ucky.

If some of you don’t want to eat there that’s just fine it’s our choice so instead of making stupid comments why don’t you just scroll on by ? I’m sure there will be lots of people buying and eating their products. They won’t miss you.

FPN – Popeye’s chicken is just OK but the red beans & rice is wonderful (not an authentic dish but still, very good) decent biscuits too… and their gravy is great.

KFC original recipe is good. Coleslaw is OK, but too finely chopped, biscuits OK. The rest of the side dishes are garbage.

Chic-fil-A chicken sandwiches are very good tho I’ve never tried the spicy deluxe, so I can’t say… and the waffle fries are nom.

Towing cars there now, I heard $400 to get your car back.

As a citizen I’ll agree to the name being Coyote Placeboast..

I can only imagine the traffic congestion it will create. It’s so busy over there now. Good thing they are closed on Sundays. Plan accordingly!
