Concord Police Department Conducting Additional DUI Patrols Looking For Drunk/Drugged Drivers

Additional officers from the Concord Police Department will be out on patrol tonight from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Concord Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.

Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with DUI will pay a stiff price: an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

I hope Laura decides to stay home.

Nah! Why should she?
Those who wanna go drinking can call an Uber or bring a designated driver.
Besides…..it’s Ladie’s Night at the Crusty Cougar and all the Gals will be honky-tonken their tails off.

Crusty Cougar address? Asking for a friend.

They should also be on the lookout for drivers suffering from Excited Delirium. 😜

Bingo! Well said.
While likely driving a stolen car containing unregistered weapons.

Try Hoffmeister’s driveway

But aren’t they looking for drunk drivers every Friday night and saturday night..not just this weekend

Why do we constantly need to be reminded the cops are out doing what they should always be doing.
Saturation patrols, DUI patrols, red light runner patrols how bout just saying they are out patrolling doing their jobs?

Honestly there aren’t enough cops ever on patrol anywhere I can literally drive for 6 months and never see a cop on patrol, we drive to Tahoe every other week and never see any CHP on 680/80/99/5 or 20. Come back home on 88/12/160/4 nope never see CHP. It’s no wonder traffic goes 80 everywhere.

This is a grant to pay additional officers to patrol for dui drivers.
