UPDATE: 84-Year-Old Man Dies In Concord Vehicle Collision

The following update is from the Concord Police Department:

On August 17, 2022, at about 5:53 PM, Concord Police Officers responded to a report of a three vehicle collision that occurred on Monument Blvd., near Lacey Lane. One of the involved drivers, an 84 year old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The other two drivers remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Alcohol/drugs were not a factor.

The collision is still under investigation. Any witnesses are asked to contact Traffic Officer Nanthasiri at 925-671-5096.

I always avoid that area- mainly because they need to repaint road lanes plus drivers drive like they drive in third world countries 🤷‍♂️

sad way to end 84 years. RIP old timer.

Sad. I remember seeing a nasty accident near that intersection where a big pickup pulled out of the strip mall and got t-boned by a sedan. Given the damage, the sedan must have been speeding. I don’t know why drivers get so tense along that stretch of road and feel the need to speed or be impatient. The accidents just aren’t worth it.
