The Bay Area Air Quality Management District issued an advisory Sunday, saying smoke from the Oak Fire in Mariposa County near Yosemite will drift into Bay Area skies on Monday.

The district said the smoke is expected to remain high. The skies may be hazy, and the smell of smoke is possible, especially at higher elevations.

The air quality index can be checked at https://fire.airnow.gov/.

We’ve all been waiting with bated breath. When’s BAAQMD calling the wear you gas mask alert?

One of my sons works pyrotechnics in the film industry. He recommended a couple of years back that I get 3M 60921 mask for when I need to do yard work under really bad smoky skies. Looks weird but works great and I cannot even smell the stinky smoke.
