Alcoholic Beverage Control Asks Licensees To Serve Alcohol Responsibly

The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) reminds licensees to serve alcohol responsibly this Fourth of July weekend by remembering to check identifications, not sell to obviously intoxicated patrons, and not over-serve customers.

ABC also reminds the public to be responsible by planning ahead and designating a sober driver, if they choose to celebrate with alcohol.

“We can all do our part in keeping everyone safe by planning to take alternative transportation or designating a sober driver to get home safely.” said ABC Director Eric Hirata.

ABC suggests licensees offer nonalcoholic drinks for designated sober drivers and monitor who is drinking alcohol. If you see people leaving who have been drinking alcohol, check on how they are getting home and offer alternate transportation if needed.

Who in their right mind would ever admit to “Not serving alcohol responsibly”?

I try to serve it in a glass or bottle. I have those foam covers to keep your bottle cold and your hand dry. I try to hand out drinks one-at-a-time. I recycle bottles and cans. If you’ve had too much to drink you can sleep in your car or on the lawn or call for a ride. I have a wheelbarrow for emergencies.

And finally, I don’t need no stinkin license (said with a Benito Alfonso Bedoya y Díaz de Guzmán voice).

As long as it’s 5 o’clock somewhere.

Don’t drink too much!
Don’t drive tipsy!
Don’t use fireworks!
Don’t scare pets!
Don’t this and that!

DON’T! DON’T! DON’T!!!

Don’t need the reminders.

Being over served is one thing.

IF in the morning you keep finding your car at the bottom of a ravine,
with you in it. You might have a problem with alcohol.
