President Joe Biden said Americans will have to stomach high gas prices “as long as it takes” to beat back Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, according to a report by Bloomberg.com
QUESTION: Have you come to terms with the fact that gas prices will not go down enough to make a difference, especially in California?
Talk about it….
I am typically a smooth, kind and calm individual but this really chaps my hide. Just get the darn pipeline going and stop relying on others to line your pockets Brandon.
As if Bliden isn’t bad enough Newsom is just as bad. Newsom is spending 58 billion on the green new deal. Plus halting oil drilling, fracking, and exploration.
Get off of fossil fuels when we have something better to replace it. These jokers are putting the cart in front of the horse. We need a better impeachment process.
…. And a Newsom is planning to run for president and he’ll be promising to do for the nation what he’s done for California.
Oh boy!
‘It’s all Russia’s fault!’
In reality(for those that don’t abide in La-La land), it’s the fault of those that voted feckless, inept and corrupt Joe into office.
Biden is a liar and a fraud. High gas prices are on him and have nothing to do with Ukraine. His handlers have an anti-oil agenda and he is doing their bidding as he always has. He’s a geriatric sock puppet and the fact he’s our president just shows how hopelessly lost democrats are, including Contra Costa democrats who complain about high gas prices and refuse to admit their own culpability in those high prices.
I hope you Contra Costa democrats are happy. He’s your man — own it. Unfortunately, we all have to pay the price.
Anyone but Trump, right? IDIOTS!
You are so right!

@anonymous: 100% spot on!
@anonymous: Right!
I had not heard the News about Joe Bidens statement till now.
The statement …. Really? Is really it because of Putin?
If good old Joe would open the oil pipeline, we would be fine… Right?

First off Biden saying this is something no President in his right mind would say to the public. But we all know he is in his right mind and probably can’t even find it. He needs to be removed immediately. Obviously the Military Industrial Complex wants their profits from endless war. They should be eliminated too.
Gas will probably always be expensive in Kalifornia as long as the airheads are running the show. Eliminate them too or anarchy will soon prevail. People have had enough.
“But we all know he isn’t in his right mind”
Is there an alternative? What exactly am I supposed to do while I wait for them to come down? Buy an electric car? Not go to work? Wait for handouts? Panhandle? It’s all rhetorical, btw. I am stuck, like many others in the same spot, paying through the nose for gas because not surviving is not an option. Gas prices may not be within my control but I have to get by. No one is going to get me or any of us through this mess but ourselves.
Just because I came to terms with the fact that gas prices will not go down enough to make a difference does not mean that I have to like it.
@miguel
You wrote: “No one is going to get me or any of us through this mess but ourselves”.
You are so right.
The prices will never go down because we have bunch of morons in office.
Get rid of all these socialists that are bringing this country down.
What choice do we have???
This is a supply and demand issue… the country (the world) has been shut down for two years. People want to get out of the house and enjoy their lives.
Under Trump we were a net exporter to f oil and not dependent on what was going on in other countries. Within two months in office this idiot killed all of it with executive orders and put us dependent to other countries again.
@concerned Citizen
The United States has the supply to meet the demand but refuses to do so. Are you the least bit “Concerned” about that?
How stupid does our government think we are?Or maybe the question is are we stupid? This war in Ukraine has nothing to do with the gas crisis. It has been created by our brain dead president and the officials that tell him what to read on the teleprompter. It boils down to control of our everyday lives and freedom. We are going to be taxed to the point of poor or rich no middle class. How long are the U.S. Citizens going to be controlled before we take back our country?
… so why doesn’t king newscum put a hold on state gas taxes like many other states have? to add insult to injury gas tax increased today… we were promised our gas inflation help 3 months ago – now I’m hearing that we;ll get it in the fall… does that mean we’ll get another check after that?
Newsom runs California like a dictator. Remember when he threw $1B at Chinese made masks? No budget, no, approval, just spend on a whim. So when he claims he can’t do anything about fuel costs, he is lying. As acting dictator, he could do several things to assist. But he doesn’t want to. The fact is, he’s not a socialist, he’s a communist. Helping people just isn’t his thing.
Newsom added three cents a gallon tax, it took effect today, July 1st. Meanwhile, he’s giving illegals food stamps, and free health care. Yesterday, Newsom announced that illegals are entitled to free abortions.
Yes, I’m having a hard time stomaching the high gas prices. But I’m having an even harder time stomaching Joe Biden!
Even in the face of sharply declining popularity, he is pursing agendas such as higher gas prices and opening the borders that should obviously make him even less popular here. It’s almost as if he if following some global agenda above and beyond the interests of US citizens. I wonder.
I have come to terms with the fact that Americans will have to pay way too much for gas, for many years to come, BECAUSE of Biden Administration policies. Using my Kroger discount, I was able to fill my car with $4.09/gal gas today. What does 87 Octane cost in Contra Gotcha these days?
I identify as NonBidenay!
NonBidenary; dang autocorrect!!!
When asked, today, about the high gas prices, Biden’s economic advisor Brian Deese answered: “This is about the future of the Liberal World Order and we have to stand firm”….
There you have it…Why hide, anymore?
So Paul please explain. What is your problem with the future of the Liberal World Order?
Here is a definition of what Liberal World Order actually means:
“First and foremost, the liberal world order is an ideological order, based on liberal ideas and values that include open and free trade, liberal democratic governance, universal human rights, collective security, international institutions, and the rule of law. Though these ideas are shared with many Western countries, the United States remains central to the project.”
http://tinyurl.com/2r5hrrmz
BTW that definition is from the US Army War College
JWB – Here is a quote from founding father, John Quincy Adams, ““America… goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.”
See how that’s the opposite a “Liberal World Order”?
@JWB, Fascism by another name. We’re all supposed to sacrifice and suffer for a war we care little about just so rich American capitalists can make money on this war of empire. Perhaps now is the time for people to drop what they’re doing and take to the streets!
And yet again…. No wonder they want to take all our guns away.
JWB: Thank you very much for that link, and I really do mean that. It is very “interesting,” part propaganda, part fluff, part just plain wrong but at least it gives me something to look at. I was thoroughly entertained with the description of the US as being in a “unipolar” world, when in reality less than a third of the world’s population lives under democracy. Anyway, it gives the package of Liberal World Order kind of like a McDonald’s value meal where you need to combine all the parts to be a believer, like free trade, rule of law, collective security and such. So, we can’t get the value meal if we want the rule of law, but not free trade? It’s a shame. Economics, as opposed to the paper’s argument that we need free trade because Woodrow Wilson thought it was a good idea, has advanced since Wilson was president and now many or most economists say it is an idiotic idea leading to the collapse of the US middle class. Sorry, this is one value meal I will pass up.
The liberal world order collectively have an IQ slightly above “tilt” on your average pinball machine. Apparently, these days, it pays to be stupid. Relax, here comes the drill……..made in China of course……
Someday maybe some of you can explain how Biden caused the price of oil to rise worldwide. Besides you put a republican in power he is just going cut the budget including Medicare and SS if he can get away with it, give his rich buddies in Palm Beach a tax cut and drive us even further in debt
@Fred. Try this search: “Biden’s war on oil.”
And oil is one item with a lot of publicity, but research Larry Summers and other economists saying Biden caused the general inflation with his unneeded two trillion spending package dumping fiscal stimulus on an economy already recovering. This increasing inflation was way before Putin was on anyone’s radar.
Fred—-The price of oil has always been higher in the rest of the world because they have to buy it from oil producing countries. The US has enough oil to last an estimated 500 years, but Biden would rather import oil from foreign countries than drill for it right here in the USA. Under Trump, the US was energy independent, until Biden put a halt on drilling and closed the Keystone XL pipeline.
On Social Security and Medicare, if memory serves me right, it was Jimmy Carter who cut Social Security benefits in 1977, and I believe LBJ also cut benefits.
As for cutting taxes for the rich, higher taxes reduce profits, and dampen production. Corporations will have less money to invest in productivity, which leads to less supply. Increasing taxes on the rich will also drive more businesses out of the country, and higher taxes on corporations are always passed down to the consumer, and the net effect would increase inflation.
EZ Fred…
Three things Biden has done that increased gas prices:
Canceling drilling leases and limiting domestic production.
Proposed and implemented choking regulations that impose big costs and lead to higher prices.
Spewed anti-energy rhetoric that discourages investment.

Now it’s your turn… tell me something, anything… Biden has done to lower the price of gas other than squander our emergency reserves.
Every move he’s made so far only drives prices higher
@ Dawg
Canada produces about 2 1/2 as much oil as they use domestically. So using your logic gas should be cheap in Canada? Well it is actually higher than the average of the US.
And explain how you can close a pipeline that wasn’t even built? As a matter of fact wouldn’t be functional today even if the permit was not revoked?
Also you can easy google but it was expected that the Keystone XL pipeline actually would have gas made more expensive in the US particularly in the midwest, because it would have it made cheaper for Canada to supply other customers than the US.
@JWB,
You might want to check how much of the high gas prices in Canada are because of taxes.
chicken little you really cannot do this yourself?
The total tax per US gallon of gasoline are between 78.41 and 175.91 Canadian cents or 61.15 and 137.21 US cents per gallon with an average of 87.87 US cents.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motor_fuel_taxes_in_Canada
The average gas price in Canada is US$ 6.496 per gallon
https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/Canada/gasoline_prices/
So what is your point again?
Wasn’t cheap gas used as a rationalization for the Iraq invasion.
Thought it was WMD
Is that a question or a statement?
You didn’t use a question mark so I’m left to figure it was a statement.
Can you provide an example of all the cheap gas (oil) we get from Iraq?
I’m not seeing it.
Personally if I were in charge I’d have renamed Iraq “US Armed Forces Mid-East Oil Field #1” and pumped it like mad.
Built a few refineries there too.
I’d employ almost all Iraqis to work for the oil co. and make sure they all profited big time too.
The answer is no.
Easy for a rich man to say!
The Biden administration actually came out and finally admitted that what we are going thru is part of their plan for a “ Liberal Word Order” they do not care about any of us!
This should scare even the hard core democrats! They are hurting us on purpose!
Biden’s policies are sinking the American economy. People must rise up and vote for better leadership or throw out their wallets. They won’t be needing them otherwise….
They admitted we have this inflation to advance the progressive agenda. Russia has nothing to do with our gas prices. Joe keeps saying Russia but his idiots keep telling the truth. Russia has something to do with some inflation because they keep printing money to equip the Ukraine. These democrats are beyond stupid. They are killing us.
High prices are caused by our failed leaderships
In California, we have the idiot Newscum
In the US, we have dummy Biden.
People like to say well we are cheaper than the rest of the world. … yeah we are. A friend just spent some time abroad driving a large 4wd SUV. It was diesel and they averaged 29 mpg over 3500 miles. This was 4 wheeling, urban and highway driving. We hat same vehicle in the US might get 20 … might …. On the highway. They paid about $8.00 a gallon for diesel …
I would not mind paying the price If the EPA would allow us to get good mileage
The Biden energy czar, Jennifer Granholm informs us that no matter how high US energy costs get, there are people in other countries who pay more. That’s sort of like telling someone who is bleeding to death, relax, there are other people bleeding to death faster than you are.
As much as she has a vacuum cleaner bag upstairs, she did look pretty good on the dating game.
