Back in the day, they gave away matches for EVERYTHING!
This match book came from a pet shop in Walnut Creek called the “Dimond Pet Shop”. It was located on Locust St.
The building doesn’t have a pet shop anymore, it’s a Chinese restaurant.
QUESTION: Do you remember any pet shops around Claycord back in the 50s, 60s, 70s or 80s? If so, which one was your favorite?

The one in the terminal shopping centre – nice selection of Australian Zebra Finches screaming at the other birds.
Also, is the reptile shop still there?
For the past 30 years pet shops for northern Californians only exist in the movies. Are these the sort of shops that you hear that sell baby chickens on Easter that are almost always abandoned after the holiday?
Steffi’s on Main St., in WC in the mid ’70s.. Was across Main from B of A. The Parents had a big freshwater and a giant saltwater tank. Bought all of our fish there. They had a big red macaw that I used to talk to.
