Joe(and everyone who voted for him) did that.

Wally June 11, 2022 - 7:31 PM - 7:31 PM

If you cashed a stimulus check in 2020 or accepted a PPP loan, you only have yourself to blame for contributing to this “transitory” inflation.

CJRN June 11, 2022 - 9:37 PM - 9:37 PM

@Wally,
There are many of us on a fixed income who did neither are are suffering the consequences

Reasonable June 12, 2022 - 7:22 AM - 7:22 AM

And the Fed is reluctant to raise interest rates to stop it. With nearly 31 trillion in national debt, raising the rates will cause even more of the fed budget to go towards paying the interest on that debt. Eventually we end up like Venezuela.

We were already on our way to to the completion of Weimerica a while ago. If you’re not familiar with the Weimar Republic, do yourself a favor and read up on it. Things are eerily similar.

SAM June 11, 2022 - 4:11 PM - 4:11 PM

Democrats don’t care about anything. They are burning it all down on purpose.

Badge1104 June 11, 2022 - 4:25 PM - 4:25 PM

“BIDEN DID THAT!”
They try to blame it on everyone and everything else, but Biden and the democrats brought this all on!

Here is a short rundown on some of the things that were accomplished by a conservative.
*The interstate highway system
*The Berlin Wall came down
*The Cold War ended
*The collapse of the USSR
*Established NASA
*Desegregated schools in Democrat run southern states
*Established an international relationship with China
*Gave women the right to vote
*Gave blacks the right to vote
*Defeated the Confederacy, ending the Civil War
*The Emancipation Proclamation
*Brought the troops home from Vietnam
*Brought down the ISIS caliphate
*Reduced our dependence on foreign oil

Well, the responses to DR sure shut him up….

From what I hear, he’s sitting in the corner blubbering away along with JWB.

None of the democrats have produced anything constructive….

TPC June 11, 2022 - 4:33 PM - 4:33 PM

Stack it to the rafters. It’s all planned Let’s go Brandon.

Cautiously Informed June 11, 2022 - 7:48 PM - 7:48 PM

Agreed. And, you better make it canned and dry goods. Why? because Joes pandering to the climate dumb-dumbs and the activists wind and solar energy sources are not going to come any where close to supplying the energy needs of the current human population.

Glen223 June 11, 2022 - 8:48 PM - 8:48 PM

And invest in precious metals – brass and lead.

For the 82 percent that didn’t vote….you are obviously leeches on society and deserve absolutely zero. You’re simply a waste of oxygen.

No Excuses June 11, 2022 - 4:40 PM - 4:40 PM

DON’T TALK TO ME ABOUT IT. 18% of registered voters care… The rest of you? Whine away! I sneer at you!

Never Enough June 11, 2022 - 4:49 PM - 4:49 PM

No president has ever been so good for energy companies and so bad for the poor and working class!

The Fearless Spectator June 11, 2022 - 5:52 PM - 5:52 PM

Joe despises the fossil fuel companies, however they enjoy his $110/barrel oil. What Joe doesn’t understand, is that during high gross profit times, oil companies are more willing to spend money on 3D seismic data to pursue additional drilling projects in newly acquired lease blocks. His administration makes such pursuit cost prohibitive. Simply put, Joe couldn’t find his own a** with both hands. And we pay for that.

jprcards June 11, 2022 - 5:03 PM - 5:03 PM

We know that this is all Biden’s fault…..EVERYONE knows that this is all Biden’s fault but the democrats will continue to refuse to admit it. Blame here, blame there, blame everywhere except where it obviously belongs.

I just can’t understand how a considerable portion of the population can see things disintegrating right before their eyes and still kid themselves that everything is fine. It is troubling and quite perplexing.

Oh, please June 11, 2022 - 8:47 PM - 8:47 PM

Well, their votes are bought. As long as the masses keep getting most everything for “free,” they keep voting dumb.

Obamavirus June 11, 2022 - 5:16 PM - 5:16 PM

The Biden regime has sown the whirlwind as Schumer says. I doubt they can conjure up enough fraud to save themselves in Nov. ( perhaps using dominion machine hacks though) I think even low information voters are starting to see reality now. I guess they thought the Ukraine war would somehow allow them to seize even more power and put them out of reach of the electorate but Russia is smartly going slowly and methodically. Biden regime will go long before Putin, just like with “ Assad must go!” and Obama etc. LoL

Bill June 11, 2022 - 5:37 PM - 5:37 PM

If you read this article in AP titled:
Several factors are converging to push gas prices higher.

This may explain some of the problems with high gas prices.

They’re trying to force us all into electric cars that we won’t have the resources to charge?

We need to remove the bumbling leadership that’s going to ruin us!
They have “become the enemy”.

Aren’t there people in a position of authority that took an oath to defend us from all enemies, foreign and domestic?

How long can we let this madness continue?

LOL June 12, 2022 - 10:12 PM - 10:12 PM

That is why tRump and his crime family will be going to jail.

Glen223 June 13, 2022 - 7:53 AM - 7:53 AM

Or are you just a dnc troll ? With a name like “lol”, I can understand your limitations.

Keep wishing, sonny.

Btw, you might want to take remedial English classes. It’s Trump, not tRump.

JJ June 11, 2022 - 6:07 PM - 6:07 PM

I bought a home in 1982 with a 16% mortgage rate. Had to have the seller carry a second. Really couldn’t afford it, but didn’t take vacays, or eat out, and drove older car just to work and back. Those were lean times.

No one forced me to buy that home. My choice.

But I never blamed Reagan for my financial situation.

And if anyone is looking for Quaker Oats Old Fashion oatmeal. Which I saw at CVS for $9.95. It’s $2.99 at Safeway. You’re welcome.

Ancient Mariner June 11, 2022 - 6:14 PM - 6:14 PM

If I put a dollar under my mattress, and I take it out a year later, I want it to still be worth a dollar.
Why isn’t it?
I have a 10,000 Reichmarks banknote from the Weimar Republic. I bought it when I was about 12, impressed by all the zeroes and I thought that the junk-shop owner (that’s what we kids called antique shops) just didn’t realise what a valuable item he was selling. Silly me. I don’t want the dollar under my mattress to go the same way. How do we stop inflation? How do we stop the people who deliberately create inflation?

Oh, please June 11, 2022 - 8:51 PM - 8:51 PM

Where is the big uproar from the lefties how this is unjustly affecting the POC?
The silence is deafening…

Cellophane June 11, 2022 - 8:15 PM - 8:15 PM

I believe the real inflation rate is between 18% and 20%, similar to Biden’s approval ratings.

The government lies on a regular basis. Anything to make themselves appear more attractive.

Government spending is reckless, and government policies are stupid, which is why we have so high inflation.

The people are no longer important since Dominion Fraud Inc. has corrupted the elections.

America is being ruined by Soros and Obama.

The lefties love higher prices.

Just wait- we’re approaching the inflation rate not seen since that of the Weimar Republic.

With any luck, the lefties won’t survive . Hell, they don’t even know what gender they are.

Ricardoh June 11, 2022 - 8:46 PM - 8:46 PM

We can only hope if the republicans take over in November they know what to do.

Jeff (the other one) June 12, 2022 - 10:23 AM - 10:23 AM

@Ricardoh, the hope is very tenuous, given the history of the Republicans who do get elected. I mean, Senate lead is mcconnell, and House lead is mccarthy. mccarthy is not a brain trust, but he is Einstein when compared to cortez, yet, cortez has much larger stones, and can, oddly enough, message better than mccarthy. Hard to have a lot of hope with that ahead of us.

Glen223 June 11, 2022 - 8:53 PM - 8:53 PM

Methinks those who voted for slow joe, Harris the ho, drunk Nancy and the rest of the liberal liars supporting violence are just as brain-dead as those they voted for.

I’ve NEVER heard the democrats vilify the violent protesters over the past two years. And by that omission, they support that violence. And in supporting that violence, they ought to be arrested and charged, tried and sentenced – at all levels.

I am reminded of a frontpage feature from about a month back. An elderly (obviously rich, pictured in resplendent clothes in the front of a late model Mercedes ) couple were interviewed about gas, and they said “the cost of gas is high, but it’s worth it to help the Ukrainians!”

This is your brain on mainstream media.

Trump’s and Biden’s response to Covid – too much free money; decline of oil demand during shutdown leads to rebound effect, with oil companies now gouging; Putin (Trump’s buddy) wages war and his oil boycotted. All other producers forced to either eat additional shipping cost or pass them along to consumer. Guess which option they chose?

Thanks Phil. I read that WAPO was literally accepting Biden’s talking points but I really thought that story was The Onion kind of satire. Turns out they really are selling that baloney! Fun stuff. In the world of reality, Trump shoveled money (too much) into the economy while it was weak, Biden shoveled money into the economy as it came out of recession, kind of like stomping on the car accelerator as you approach the intersection. Lots of economists warned that last 2 trillion was a stupid idea. It was. Additionally the Federal Reserve kept rates ridiculously too low. A government spending sugar high combined with easy money, and there is our inflation. And they are being very upfront that they need to force a recession now on us to “help” us. Such fun. And its all Putin’s fault in their propaganda.

Anonymous June 12, 2022 - 10:56 PM - 10:56 PM

Never before has this nation experienced such a perverted and incestuous relationship between government and big business. Our strength as a nation has always been the separation of the two. A century and a half ago, if a company screwed up, they went under. And perhaps something stronger arose out of the ashes. Today “too big to fail” is our mantra and just like Japan in the 1990s, we prolonged our pain.

The Fed policies of multi-year quantitative easing, record low interest rates, and printing trillions of dollars out of thin air are the primary cause of this inflation. And inflation was a foregone conclusion.

If the Fed raises interest rates, how will that affect repayment of the national debt? It will get ugly.

Now the Fed is adopting a policy of quantitative tightening, and I believe their first attempt to unload MBS resulted in zero bids.

No one is buying what the Fed is selling. Actually, the taxpayer is buying. They just don’t know it.

Deb Shay June 13, 2022 - 8:11 AM - 8:11 AM

More egregious and frightening to me is the incestuous relationship between the current administration and big pharma. Totally evil.

To Do List June 13, 2022 - 9:06 AM - 9:06 AM

Yes, there have been bad Fed policy choices. The current chairman, Powell, is not even an economist instead going through law school. Earlier than that, he was an expensive Georgetown prep-school brat rubbing elbows with the rich and famous where he made his lifelong connections. Started as a lawyer. From his speeches seemed to literally know nothing about 1970s inflation until he had to start speaking on it. His skill set is how to make connections, not how to actually do anything. The US does have a social class problem that way.

Sam Malone June 13, 2022 - 8:04 AM - 8:04 AM

So it appears many of us in CoCo are not stupid and still maintain their common sense. So why did only 18% of us vote last week? I am sick and tired of those who complain and do not do their part.

We all better buckle up as the ride is going to get way rougher before it gets better. Thank you to all who where so foolish to vote in greenies, progressives and socialists under SOROS funding. If your stomach does not turn every morning with the latest crap they are shoving down our throats well something has to be wrong with your thinking process. You were so stupid to believe the leftist media about Trump (no he is by no means correct in how he delivers messages) but you and your pocket book, property and wallet best wake up and fast.

I am so sad for the United States. Wake up people-get off your butts and the public dole and step up.

Sadly, the 75 basis points is more about telling the Market the Feds have finally noticed inflation is a problem. That in itself may be viewed as good news. In other words, it’s a message that perhaps they are not as inept as everyone thinks. Maybe they are only half as inept as everyone thinks.

Powell needs to distance himself from the Biden administration if he ever hopes to have any credibility with anyone who understands economics or investments.

The Fearless Spectator June 14, 2022 - 8:51 PM - 8:51 PM

Eighteen months ago, the US was an exporter of energy which was profitable. Now, under the Biden plan, we are an exporter of inflation.
There is no profit in that….
