Having dealt with many relatives with dementia-why if someone saw her leaving at 3:20 AM should they have done something at that time? If those caring for her knew she is prone to wandering why have they not put in some type of system to alert them she is moving about?

Worried about her and those who seem unable to care for her!

I was thinking the same but remembered my Dad would take his little dog for a walk at 3 in the morning before all the traffic started. Just saying it could be a ritual of hers but she never returned this time. Hope she is found safe and sound.

“Last seen” could mean they reviewed camera footage and saw her leaving at that time.

Good question!

I hope they find her safe and sound <3 breaks my heart.

She was found around 8:30 this morning and is safe. WC police included a picture of them escorting her to a facility in their Facebook post. (It’s not clear from the picture if was taken at another facility near where they found her for temporary safekeeping or if the picture was taken as they returned to her home facility.)

Thank you WC…always love a good ending.

Why is there no door alarm they are the best. Ours was installed by there mother and the 1st time he opened the door ( I was his family’s nanny)alarm went off and everytime he would open it he always slammed the door and ran into the house. This was simple stick on the door and your done. It was cheap too. So do your job correctly so this does NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.

Such good news…Great link.

Have an 86 year old mother who has recently started not only to repeat herself during conversations about all family members, but reverts back to the early past. Challenging conversations, but one of the strongest women I know.and I’m always conscious not to patronize and never will.. No matter our relationship, I always show respect. Part of why I am who I am.

Well said. I also believed seniors should be revered. Even as they start to struggle mentally they still have a lot of wisdom. Their stories are historically important because they were there.

History books are written for the amusement of the ruling class and are modified over time to fit a regime. It’s been such a gift to have listened to my great uncle describe Europe during WWI, the stock market crash, and seeing the San Francisco earthquake.

Ask senior friends and family for their stories, there is a lot they have to give.
