FDA Advisory Panel Recommends Emergency Use Approval Of Novavax COVID Vaccine

An advisory panel to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration voted Tuesday to recommend an emergency use authorization for the COVID-19 vaccine developed by the Maryland-based biotechnology company Novavax.

The FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee voted 21-0, with one abstention, to recommend the two-dose vaccine for adults.

If approved by FDA officials, the Novavax vaccine would become the fourth approved for use in the U.S. and the first with a more traditional vaccine composition including non-infectious pieces of coronavirus particles.

Phase three trials with roughly 30,000 adults in the U.S. and Mexico found that the vaccine was 90.4 percent effective at preventing contraction of the virus, according to Novavax officials.

“The advisory committee’s positive recommendation acknowledges the strength of our data and the importance of a protein-based COVID-19 vaccine developed using an innovative approach to traditional vaccine technology,” Novavax President and CEO Stanley Erck said.

As of Tuesday, 66.7 percent of U.S. residents have completed their initial vaccination series.

I wonder how many of the 66.7% have gotten covid; not once but twice? At my workplace the majority of the staff is fully vaxxed and have gotten covid. Us unvaxxed haven’t gotten it at all.

+1 to KT ! Same here in my neighborhood.

Same.
All of my vaxxxed relatives and coworkers are sickly. Guess who is TOWING THE LINE at these workplaces – The Purebloods!!!
My boosted neighbors are now wearing a mask while driving together…..I’m not sure if they are wearing the masks inside their house LOL.

AND………..this is How it is done folks. Perpetual “EUA” guarantees you will have ZERO recourse should you have a bad reaction.

Amen to that, Anon! And this vaccine claims ‘90.4 percent effective at preventing contraction of the virus’…

I think this country is turning this all into a money making business and a way to control us.

Just became aware of capitalism did we?

Inject yourself with a spike protein created on a moth, with an immune response derived by tree sap.

At this point in the pandemic, COVID is now considered endemic. Physicians have multiple vaccines to choose from and to offer their patients. My question/concern: why is this EUA? Shouldn’t the vaccines that are being developed go through the same process as any other newly developed vaccines?

They need the EUA so when Pelosi’s drunk husband bought shares of Novavax just prior to the vote as part of his “routine securities portfolio asset allocation strategy,” that the share price of Novavax cannot fall as the result of pesky lawsuits.

What’s the use of insider information if there is a chance your illegal share purchase may lose value and put your investment at risk, like when us “deplorables” buy stocks?

I’m unvaccinated and still haven’t got Covid… once.

I’m recovering from it, I know I got it in the office. I’m not vax’d allergic, though I don’t have it that bad. I have vax friends that got very sick.

Who cares…2 weeks to flatten the curve, remember that?

Ridiculous to do EUAs forever.

But it is good that a non-mRNA option be available for those vulnerable categories who may actually need boosters.

Does it help hemorrhoids?
