About 7,000 customers are without power in Concord and Pleasant Hill this afternoon due to a PG&E outage.

The cause is unknown, and there is no estimated time of restoration.

UPDATE: About 1,500 are still without power. PG&E says the power should be back on by 5 p.m. The cause is still under investigation.

Got caught in the mess. No power at the mall and traffic on CC Blvd is a disaster.

At present PG&E estimates power will be restored at 4:30pm.

They also say “PG&E is assessing the cause at the outage location.”

But we should definitely keep building homes! The water and electricity will be there!

Funny! … Newsom – are you reading this??!!

And forcing everyone into electric cars and electric heaters, stoves, and dryers is surely going to make things worse for power outages! They’re not building any new power plants nor hydroelectric dams.
There’s not enough power to go around now!

Did Hoffmeister get out and rear-end a powerline this time?

.
AVOID CONTRA COSTA BL!
.

look for a fire along a PG&E transmission line. Too often that’s the cause.

Cause: 4 electric cars charging at the same time.😮

And just wait until everyone else starts plugging in their electric cars that we are going to be mandated to drive! There was not enough power to go around. Who knows maybe this is one way the government wants to control us all.
Our friends were so proud of their Lexus they bought last year but during the summer power outages they were left stranded at home because the car was not charged and worse yet they could not work from home because their power and internet were off..
Is this the plan that the greenies have in mind for us?

Did someone call Joey and tell him the powers out?

What the heck is going on with PG&E around there?! This is (I think) the third time in two weeks that there has been an outage around the mall. It is very difficult on the businesses, and very costly.

Traffic is a nightmare around SunValley Mall! I was shopping in the mall when power went out. Everything went on lock down mode and we had to leave. Traffic was terrible with no working stop lights at the intersections and with every one leaving the mall at once! It was crazy!
I called SVM about 4pm and they are still closed!

Thanks to solar and Tesla power walls we could keep working, even Internet still going. Distributed power generation and storage for the win!

SURELY everyone can afford solar generators, solar panels, massive batteries, owns land, that land is in a proper area to collect the sun, and they can also afford electric cars to get them A to B with that power.

So, how do people charge their electric vehicles?

Has anyone seen my mylar balloon?

The area around Taylor Blvd and Alhambra Ave is the worst for power outages. It’s a constant problem. You can stand on any hill and look around you 360 degrees and everyone will have power except that area. I’ve lived in that area for 40+ years and it’s not improving. Good weather, bad weather, it makes no difference.

.
Unless some knucklehead takes out a power pole, Outage Block 50 is the place to be because Block 50 has the County Sheriff-Coroner office, a CHP field office, a fire station, and CC Sanitary District facility.
.

Outage Block 50 also has priority for uncontrolled outages and must be brought back on line before all others; exempt from rotating outages as well. Guess who’s house is in Block 50 ? Guess who’s vacation home is also in Block 50 ? What are the odds …. yep, got so lucky both times. I am truly grateful.

Sorry boss, can’t make it in today car no go without electricity.. I’ll be available on zoom.. oh wait
