A training burn in North Concord at Military Ocean Terminal is creating very visible smoke in the area but is controlled and does not present any danger. Con Fire continues to monitor the fire in marsh area along Pittsburg waterfront. Please do not call 911 for these fires.
Thanks to Con Fire for all the information.
Always best to conduct fire training during a red flag fire warning day.
my thought too…
That area is not a red flag today….

Thanks for the post – I checked Pulse Point first …but would have been a good idea to have posted it early today or even yesterday
Thanks for the info, wondering what the smoke smell was.
@ Martinezmike i dont see any red flag warning today for our area from fire.ca.gov
Use it or lose it fiscal year end budget money. (End of fiscal year June 30th).
Why can’t CC County plan these events earlier in the year instead of putting the public at risk on a Red Flag (Fire Weather) warning day? This is how the terrible fires in New Mexico were started. Be more flexible CC County!!
Thanks for the bad air quality, idiots!
Yep. Smelled it.
Strong winds, high fire danger, perfect for fire training? Hope the rest of Concord doesn’t become part of the training.
With all of the fires we have why do they still have training days? Oh Well !!
Ricardoh and Phil, its probably best to train new firefighters before their first fire. Really, idiots?
Are they training our homeless to put out the fires they start?
I’ll be personally training in my backyard with my fire pit then. Don’t mind me. Ever. No matter the day.
