The California Office of Emergency Services has strategically positioned critical firefighting resources to protect threatened communities in advance of extreme fire weather.

Firefighting resources and personnel are now stationed in Lake and Colusa counties and the agency’s state-of-the-art FIRIS aircraft is at McClellan Airfield.

A Red Flag Alert issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect through much of Friday for the interior valleys of northern California, from the northern Sacramento Valley to the northern San Joaquin Valley.
