On Thursday, May 19, the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District) removed the potential illicit discharge within the Walnut Creek Channel that was reported on May 9, 2022.

The discharge was located north of Civic Park in the City of Walnut Creek, near Civic Drive and Arroyo Way.

The District has been coordinating with Kinder Morgan and Central Contra Costa Sanitary District who have facilities in the area.

They conducted their own tests to exclude their facilities as the source of the discharge.

The District will continue to monitor this area for any reoccurrence.

It wasn’t me. I haven’t done that since I was a kid.

Whatever…

…. as usual they probably didn’t repair it correctly the first time

There is a boat ramp at that spot. If the pipelines are found to be in good condition then I’d suspect someone drove down the ramp with a tank full of something they wanted to get rid of.
