FDA Approves First Non-Prescription COVID Test That Also Detects Flu, RSV

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued its approval Monday of the first non-prescription at-home COVID-19 test that also detects the flu.

The test allows users to swab the inside of their nose and send the sample to the test’s manufacturer, Labcorp, for analysis. In addition to influenza A and B and COVID-19, the test can also detect respiratory syncytial virus, more commonly called RSV.

Those who test positive for any of the viruses are subsequently contacted by a health care expert, according to the FDA.

“The rapid advances being made in consumer access to diagnostic tests, including the ability to collect your sample at home for flu and RSV without a prescription, brings us one step closer to tests for these viruses that could be performed entirely at home,” said Dr. Jeff Shuren, the director of the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health.

Labcorp Seasonal Respiratory Virus tests can be purchased online or in retail pharmacies and can be used by anyone ages 2 and up.

I’ve lost all confidence in the FDA.

So, same ole test, different box. Got it.

Oh brother!! When will it stop. So now more fear gets poured out and before you know it, if you break your leg, we’ll you just got covid too. SMH

LabCorp Covid 19 home testing……

Brought to you by Pfizer.

Covid IS the flu… 🤣🤣

it’s a trick

don’t do it

it’s just the government getting ur DNA

Oh honey. Anyone can get your DNA from your garbage, your letters, your hairbrush… there are easier ways to do it than making up some elaborate scheme using expensive diagnostic tests.

@ Oh honey I mean Oboy

There is no easier way then when a person orders a kit, provides their personal identifying information, collects a sample PER their instructions and then dutifully mails it in.

No surveillance, no garbage searching, people believe they are doing something in their best interests and very small change of cross contamination of samples.

If you believe in that conspiracy sort of thing, It’s near perfect actually.

“Those who test positive for any of the viruses are subsequently contacted by a health care expert, according to the FDA.”
That’s all you need to know.

.
I have no faith in any government agency when Democrats control the Congress and the Executive branch.
.
They’re just one failure after another…. Afghanistan withdrawl, border security, defense, immigration, the economy, foreign policy, domestic energy, commerce, transportation, personal liberty, etc.
.
FAILURES.

+1

How much?

“… you will subsequently be contacted by a healthcare expert.” 🙁 uh, don’t call me. I’ll call you.

@No Excuses….an oldy, moldy, goldy from ’75……. https://youtu.be/s3KeiPjbgcE

nytemuvr !!! 🙂

“We’re from the government and here to help.”

To ‘oboy’,
BLACKROCK just purchased Ancestry. Com.

Nope, nobody is interested in your DNA.

And now the anti-vaxxers have turned into anti-testers.

I do not and will NEVER test for a cold.
If you are not intelligent enough to know when you’re ill or well = It’s You who has a problem.

Like people would really prefer this test over an at home, 15-minute test?

Yawn. So where are the at home Covid anti-body tests? They’ve been around for awhile just seems not in the US. LabCorp has one but it’s not entirely at home. Be nice to know if you’ve already had Covid but were asymptomatic or maybe it was the little sore throat you had for a couple hours. Guess they don’t like us knowing that as it hurts vaxx profits.

No testing, no shots.

Please check but I looked beyond the headline…You get your result in 7 to 10 days..wouldn’t I be over either by then? Also how many people will be making calls.. the is approx 335 million in population.. if just 1/2 percent of people test thats 1.675 million people.. who is going to make all those calls? If FDA operates like, say, DMV… is 7 to 10 days even a reasonable timeline.. it’s crazy to think that the timeline for results and someone calling is fantasy. Common sense anyone?
