Masks Once Again Required On BART

The BART Board of Directors at its meeting today voted to require riders to wear masks in paid areas of the system with limited exceptions.

This requirement applies to trains and all portions of stations beyond the fare gates. Children ages two and under as well as people with medical conditions that prevent them from wearing masks are exempt from the mandate.

The rule is effective until July 18, 2022, unless it is extended by the BART Board.

“I strongly support requiring a mask to ride BART to keep all our riders safe,” said BART Board President Rebecca Saltzman. “I’m especially concerned for our riders who are immunocompromised, people with underlying health conditions, and children under the age of five who are not yet eligible for vaccination.”

The update to the Code of Conduct comes after a federal judge in Florida earlier this month tossed out a federal mask mandate for public transit systems and airlines.

The unvaccinated have had a reasonable time and opportunities to get a vaccination. They are responsible for themselves.

The immuno-compromised can wear masks if they want to or need to.
.
Why do the rest of us have to bare the burden for them?

Answer: SOCIALISM!

The purebloods with Natural Immunity aren’t the ones begging for masks.

The whiny Karens got them to do it, even though they’ve found out the silly cloth masks don’t do any good. No wonder BART is a mess.

All of us will be forced to mask up while I’m sure they won’t do anything about the bums who lounge on Bart maskless.

Instead of “I strongly support requiring a mask to ride BART to keep all our riders safe,” said BART Board President Rebecca Saltzman

I wish ‘they’ would have said ““I strongly support requiring all passengers have a paid ticket to ride BART to keep all our riders safe,”

This is getting to be a big joke.

@Old Timer….”getting to be….”?, it’s about a year and a half ongoing joke, among with a bunch of other crap….(expletives redacted).

Getting?

Unbelievable. California once again making its own rules. What was the point of a federal judge overturning the mandate?

.
The FL ruled that the CDC did not have the authority to extend the nationwide mandate. Congress could have extended it thru legislation.

Local jurisdictions and local special districts (like SF BART, Muni, etc) can mandate masks.

Well I do not ride BART anyways .. but wow, BART requires a mask again. Not surprised. Not at all … a Bay Area agency thinks they know more than scientists and doctors … I just read that even Fraudulent Fauci is saying we are in the end stages of this ‘pandemic’. Apparently though, BART wants to keep the fear alive.

I will not wear a mask … what are they going to do about it? They cannot even make everyone pay to get on BART, how would they enforce the mask mandate? LOL

According to the evening news, the Bart police will offer you a mask to put on and if you decline, they will issue you a $75 dollar ticket.

Big middle finger to the Bart Board. They do not really care about bringing back the riders. The Feds cover all lost revenue.

“Masks will keep you safe on BART.”
Ah Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!!
Yeah. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!

That’s going to be a hell no.

I thought Fauci just said the pandemic was over.

A last ditch control effort, they know the end is near.

BART: Masks required, tickets optional.

Hahahaha just incredible. Pretty sure “catching COVID” by not wearing a totally useless mask is the least of your safety concerns while riding BART.

I am strongly in favor of a strict mask mandate on BART until mid-July for two reasons. One, there is zero chance I will be riding BART before mid-July. Second reason, I could use a good laugh thinking about those who will ride BART.

Yet one more reason to leave the sorry state of CA behind. I will be residing elsewhere by year end.

One more reason to not take Bart.

From what I’ve seen masks are optional for those drinking a Corona and smoking pot.

Why anyone would remain in California … That’s a mystery … #ChrisFarleyaccent …

Boycott BART

I ride BART to theatre, ballet, and symphony, all requiring masks and proof of vaccine and boost. I would feel safer if the mask mandate were also enforced on BART. Unfortunately, there are people on every train who don’t wear them. Strangely, I see men in security guard uniforms unmasked.

Your comment is the saddest thing I’ve read in a long time.

Faith over fear

Obviously Becton’s fault. Clear as day!

If I were to ride BART, (and that’s a bit IF), I would rather wear a Tyvek suit rather than a mask. Sitting on the BART seats exposes you to more nastiness than COVID!

The odds of getting Covid on Bart not wearing a mask are absolutely slim to none

Last ditch attempt at holding onto tyrannical power….
