Contra Costa Supervisors Deny Appeal Of Approval Of 144 Homes Just East Of Martinez

The Contra Costa Board of Supervisors unanimously denied an appeal of the county planning commission’s approval of a 144-unit residential subdivision, on 78.2 acres just outside Martinez, east of Interstate Highway 680 in the Vine Hill area.

Seeno/Discovery Homes’ Bayview Estates Residential Project will have detached single-family homes and associated roads on 31.8 acres of the site. It will also include approximately 42 acres of open space, marshes, and undeveloped land, including 20.1 acres of the upper hill area. There will also be a 4.5-acre private neighborhood park.

Central Avenue will be the subdivision’s main access road, though the neighborhood will also be accessible via Palms Drive.

Residents of private Palms Drive spoke against the project, saying the lack of roads in and out of the project will make it problematic in the case of a fire, and the builder shouldn’t be allowed to cut down 30 protected trees. Discovery obtained tree removal permits and will replant 30 trees.

Of course, they did.

The board’s votes had already been bought and paid for by the developer.

Nothing new here, same old corruption.

We need more housing. Do people not understand that. Have you seen
home prices and rents lately. No matter how small the more the merrier.

This isn’t going to to fix the housing shortage, but it’s a step in the right direction.

Where’s all the water coming from? Gavin’s butt?

Liberal logic: More million dollar housing will make the prices affordable..I personally don’t care what they do but the “logic” used to justify it is just completely stupid. Just take your kickbacks and let Seeno do what he does. Same thing for decades. We see you all 👀👀

It is not a housing shortage. It is a too many people in one place problem. Continuing to build will make roads undrivable and water too scarce. This area cannot support m roe and more people indefinitely. People need to spread out and find areas in which they can afford to live.

Nothing will fix the housing shortage until we manage our population better. Two simple things would be to STOP the flow of illegals and to STOP encouraging generational welfare.

Of course they did. They would have to give back all the money they put in there pockets otherwise.

Wow Edi would fit right in Seeno already owns him.

Fortunately water and electricity are never a problem. Plus, this way Antioch crime can move further west to merge with Concord. It’s a Progressive thing.

What Seeno wants, Seeno buys, including the politicians

Seeno. Say no more. Bought and paid… Thanks to our wonderful liberal overlords.

You cannot stop people from moving to the SF Bay Area.
Our government is encouraging illegal immigration and has no desire to stop it.
Our government is encouraging generational welfare as a way to buy votes.

None of this will change. We need to live in the present and deal with the situation we have.

nothing changes with these actors … never will.

,,,, well if they keep approving all this housing there must still be plenty of water – right? oh…. and surfing parks in the desert in Palm springs? there must be plenty of water!

This development is only a drop in the bucket compared to the plan for the Concord Naval Weapons Station. They intend to run wild.
Out there is a fortune waiting to be had, if you think they’ll let it go you’re mad.

Been in Concord for 43 years and the land developers and politicians Corruptions continues. Between this and the massive development on the weapons land, Concord will be choked off. Politicians and developers will become richer.

Once again, hear no evil, speak no evil, Seeno evil

I like it….

What’s wrong with growth. City’s are supposed to grow and flourish.

Gee, what a surprise. The politicians, big and little, care and answer only to big money.
