A recent survey by SnackAndBakery.com found that pizza was the most devoured comfort food.

I guess I don’t have what would be considered a comfort food, but I can do a lot of damage with a decently cooked ribeye, and were I to have a fridge full of various comfort foods, and that was there, that would be my first go to. Naturally, I can pack away a pizza without batting an eye (but would need to loosen the pants), to address the most devoured comfort food, but (unfortunately) that would be the case with just about any food put in front of me. So, final answer/survey says! ribeye

.
Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and steamed vegetables like green peas, snow peas, broccoli, or spinach.

… thank God I’m a country boy.

Too Funny….That’s what for dinner here tonight!

Exit,

is it true then, that your life is a funny, funny riddle?

🤠

Marsh pillows

Oh, Please…… Need you ask??????

🙂

Chef Burger!!!

Pinto beans with ham (cooking in the crockpot as I write this) and homemade cornbread, hands down the most comfy of my comfort foods.

Homemade cornbread? YUM!

Nom!

Chocolate milkshakes always comfort me.

Cyn ~ That’s one of my Hubby’s favorites.

Roz, your husband has good taste……in shakes AND in wives. 🙂

Escargot.

Little Debbie’s Oatmeal Cream Pies, not really a food but I could eat a bunch of those. Lol.

Kraft Mac n Cheese.

I must admit that I still love the “deluxe” version and I add some grated cheese to boot.

Beef Stew leftovers. Give it a couple days for all the flavors to develop and “marry”: what’s not to like?

The Old Goat ~ So True!

@Goat…good call, beef stew is great any time of day!

Homemade spaghetti 😎👍

Biscuits n gravy, mashed potatoes and meatloaf.

Yes, indeed; Good meatloaf if hard to find these days.

Yes, beef stew l make different versions, usually heavy on paprika, sauce varies, one beef broth, cream and sour cream, another similar, but add tomato paste and perhaps diced tomatoes. Last on similar to Hungarian goulash. Of course to make it perfect comfort food has to be served with mashed potatoes.

Hanne
Got a good recipe to share for Goulash? I was just thinking of making some, and I’d like to see if yours is much different than mine. I like to look at different recipes and combine the best parts of each.

@ Hanne ~ Do you use smoked paprika in your stew? I had never tried it before until my daughter introduced it to me in a dish she made for her dear old Dad…. and I am addicted to it… It’s my new favorite spice, so much better than plain old paprika!

Hard boiled eggs!

My grandmother’s chicken and dumplings
My mom’s Navy beans with cornbread
My dad’s biscuits and gravy
My wife’s meatloaf with macaroni and cheese or English pub stew with Yorkshire pudding

Plain white bread, butter, warmed, with sprinkled sugar and cinnamon on top. Or a flour tortilla with butter. Simple, but carb-filled 😉

I love churros, the thick snake looking type called “calentitos de rueda” filled with cajeta, or dulce de leche…takes right back to childhood! Does anyone know where they make them fresh around here, the thick type?

When i was in high school, YVHS class of 2001; my friends and I would head over to taco bell where you could buy a churo l mean this thing was huge, great snack, i dont know where one can buy that , perhaps at I may be wrong but El Ranchos grocery mart. great food people but never looked for a churro, but i did get one from that store off of monument blvd and the old KFC, the old safeway was there but there was for a small time i think it was el rancho, and they had churros and bean and green chili tamales’.. then they went out of bussiness, very sad

Fish tacos – grilled. With all the fixings

Chicken fried steak with sausage gravy and topped with an over easy egg.

Southern fried chicken, mac n’ cheese with bacon, pecan pie with ice cream. Oh yeah!

For me it would be a comfort snack of potato chips and cashews.

For dessert definitely ice cream, especially butter pecan, l like coffee ice cream, but somehow butter pecan is more comforting.

Salvadoran Pupusas Revueltas!

Smoked Fish

OMG! hmmm ., well I would have to say lumpia. NOT the frozen oven backed stuff, the traditional made lumpia, it takes a while to make but its totally worth it,

oooh wait biscuits n gravy! NICE, and churros , heck yes. reminds me of the time the lock-ness monster came up to me and said: I need about $3.50. three fitty, its about this time i realized that this creature was trying to hustle me out of my comfort food.

Menudo and beef noodle soup! they are also good for hang over!

Cooked Lentils

Prime Rib steak.

Followed by,

Dark chocolate anything.

Whatever I’m not allergic to. If I can eat it, it’s a comfort.

🍕 pizza

Guacamole, salsa and tortilla chips, washed down with a cold beer!

A thick slice of homemade banana nut bread slathered with butter and a cup of hot black coffee…. that makes me pretty comfortable.

Ummmm… to differentiate between FAVORITE foods and favorite COMFORT foods is the keystone here!

I’ll go with the latter:
If I am chilled from working outside …or just am feeling a bit “under the weather”, then I’ll go with Campbell’s cream-of-tomato soup (half milk and half water added) along with a sharp yellow New York cheddar sandwich pan-fried in butter.

Everything mentioned above, plus:

Anything with both chocolate and marshmallows I will eat…
Rocky Road Ice Cream

Ben and Jerry’s has a new flavor: Oprah Mocha, it’s wonderful.
