Everyone has seen the highlights. The whole program is really inside jokes and clapping for nothing. You would think these people just saved the world from disaster. I like some movies but the academy is over the top. They get paid enough they don’t need medals. On top of that their politics suck.

Will Smith set back the Afr. American community by exemplifying the plague of black on black violence by resorting to violence himself.
His abhorrent behavior set a bad example in reaction to mere words by Chris Rock. Once known to be a respectable actor, his actions cannot and should not be supported or condoned by anyone.
.
What a hot take. But this isn’t an issue of race. These men have both been Hollywood elite for decades. They are both so far removed from us regular folk it’s laughable to compare that little slap to “black on black crime”. Will Smith’s actions (while defending his wife from being mocked for her alopecia) don’t speak for all black people the way you’re trying to imply they do 😂
Just like every other brain-dead racist liberal, frfr wants to pretend black-on-black crime doesn’t matter. Keep working on your excuses until you can find a way to blame Trump!
@It Figures I never said it doesn’t exist/doesn’t matter? I said saying Will Smith set black people back by slapping Chris Rock is a stretch lmao Why are you so eager to make this a political and/or race issue?
I never said that? I only meant that it was quite a reach to say that Will Smith and Chris Rock “set back” African Americans as a whole based on their actions at the Oscars. Not sure why you want to make this an issue of race or politics.
I hear Jussie Smollett is saying Will Smith hit him too.

Never have, and never will. I didn’t even know it was on last night until just now. The only awards I would like to see are awards going to special people. Military, public servants, and private citizens, who went out of their way, and perhaps risked their lives in helping others, a person who went above and beyond the call of duty. In my book, that is the definition of a hero.

I have watched the Academy Awards all my life. I enjoy watching movies. Movies make one cry, laugh, make one happy and bring joy. It’s part of Americana. The movies let me enjoy two hours of getting away from reality.
Love to see the true stories of what has happened in the past and what may happen in the future.
Yes what happened last night was a very sad moment, Will Smith lost it on the biggest stage in the world. Furthermore he took home the Oscar for portraying the Richard Williams the father of the Williams sister who was committed himself to bring his daughters to become champions and survived various beat downs to accomplish his goals for his daughters.
Nope, I didn’t watch the awards; I was too busy watching for the rain storm that didn’t arrive. Now I’ll have to irrigate my fruit trees.

Some of my neighbors attempt to keep politics alive by posting BLM and Miles Hall signs in their yards. It’s a progressive thing.
I’ve been waiting for a proper cause to post my own sign, and now it’s here:

Hollywood wants 6& 7 year olds to learn their LGBTs. Florida parents want 6-7 year olds to learn their ABCs. The person at the Oscars who they reported as saying gay, gay , gay is another reason to not only not watch Oscars but movies in general. Hollywood has no idea what the law is about. Haven’t been to a movie or watched Oscars for years. Complete waste of time.
I’d rather read a book.
No, most films are remakes, sequels, and virtual garbage. Acting is medicare and the directors are brain-dead with little creativity and boring plots. Actors and Actresses incorporate too much of their own political beliefs and are grossly overpaid for what they attempt to bring to the screen.

I haven’t watch the Oscars – AKA Gong Show in years. I dont like to watch show horses prancing around in expensive gowns and Harry Winston Diamond Jewelry that could feed several towns. The Hollyweirdos are pompous, overflated narcissistic degenerates. Will only demonstrated how spoiled and out of touch these actors really are as people. If that were anyone else, out of their status, they would have been put in jail. What a disgrace! You know Old Prince of Belair is off his rocker – look at his kids and marital relationship.
If you watch the unedited clips; Smith was laughing heartily until he looked over at his “open marriage” phony-baloney wife! His real personality came out on display, and he’s not at all the “nice guy” he has portrayed himself to be. What a jerk! I still think it might have been a fully rehearsed and staged attempt to help both him and get the useless “OSCARS SELF-LOVE FEST higher ratings. If it had been a white guy slapping Chris Rock; LA would still be burning.(!??!)
You might be right but I’m not sure. Everyone there were professional actors, the MC guy back stage behaved in a very strange way given the circumstances and his ticket sales are soaring right now for his upcoming tour.
