I won’t be watching any of the upcoming awards shows either.

Everyone has seen the highlights. The whole program is really inside jokes and clapping for nothing. You would think these people just saved the world from disaster. I like some movies but the academy is over the top. They get paid enough they don’t need medals. On top of that their politics suck.

Never have, and never will. I didn’t even know it was on last night until just now. The only awards I would like to see are awards going to special people. Military, public servants, and private citizens, who went out of their way, and perhaps risked their lives in helping others, a person who went above and beyond the call of duty. In my book, that is the definition of a hero.

No I did not watch, but today it got so much publicity I read up on the controversy. The first two stories I saw just assumed everyone already follows those stupid actor’s lives so the background was missing. The MC/moderator joke literally meant nothing to me until I researched it.

Nah, haven’t watched in years. Used to enjoy them but over the years it’s become too political and many (not all) of the actors feel that everyone should stop what they’re doing to listen to their all knowing words of wisdom.

I have watched the Academy Awards all my life. I enjoy watching movies. Movies make one cry, laugh, make one happy and bring joy. It’s part of Americana. The movies let me enjoy two hours of getting away from reality.
Love to see the true stories of what has happened in the past and what may happen in the future.
Yes what happened last night was a very sad moment, Will Smith lost it on the biggest stage in the world. Furthermore he took home the Oscar for portraying the Richard Williams the father of the Williams sister who was committed himself to bring his daughters to become champions and survived various beat downs to accomplish his goals for his daughters.
What happen last night was actually a crime.
I used to watch them when Bob Hope or Jonny Carson was the host and they had real stars on the show.. Now it’s more like a bunch of woke phony’s.

You might be right but I’m not sure. Everyone there were professional actors, the MC guy back stage behaved in a very strange way given the circumstances and his ticket sales are soaring right now for his upcoming tour.
No, and never have. Even in my youth, never wanted to sit and watch. May be because my father also did not, but by the time I was in my teens, actually had inner, mild hostility to the thoughts of award shows. As time has gone on, with more and more (irrelevant) reward shows, I still have zero interest in these, celebrating movies I have no interest in seeing.
