The executive officer of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District is retiring after more than 18 years as the head of the agency, district officials announced this week.
Jack Broadbent has worked as the air district’s executive officer since 2004 after stints with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and South Coast Air Quality Management District and in the private sector.
Alexander “Sandy” Crockett will take over as interim executive officer while the district, which regulates air quality in the nine-county Bay Area, looks for a longer-term interim or permanent replacement for Broadbent.
most likely a huge six figure pension
Oh, joy. We get a new smog nazi.
First, Farnitano resigns.. now, Broadbent. This is such great news. Two men who have left a wake of destruction are gone. Good riddance.
don’t expect the replacements to be any better
Think I’ll crank up my fireplace tonight in his honor.
Does Mr. Broadbent’s position really need to be filled? What exactly does he do, besides telling the public what not to do, and letting us minions know when the air is unhealthy?
Just thought I would ask. 🤷🏼♀️
I hear there’s going to be a “bon voyage” bonfire/soiree for Broadbent and Farnitano…BYOM (bring your own masks).
See ya Jack!!! “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”
As Curly Joe said to Wyatt Earp in Tombstone, Well….Bye
Great another greenie in our midst. Dissolve the position and save us all money.
That guy’s total pay and benefits for 2020 was $437,758.03.
Jack will get a great retirement package.
Then he’ll find another 6 figure job with great benefits and a retirement package after only a few years working.
He’ll get consultant gigs and get paid for speeches.
He knows how to run the system and get the most taxpayer dollars possible.
He will get lost on his way out the door and find his way down the hall to the EPA to start another career scheme on the taxpayers.
The air smells cleaner already….
Bye – Bye Jack! You won’t be missed! Please take your sorry carcass as far from California as possible. Go haunt another state or country!
Hit the road Jack. Don’t ya come back no more!
