Citizens voted to stay on daylight savings time year round. Federal Law does not currently allow that. You have option of staying on standard time year round, like AZ, HI and most of Indiana, or changing with the rest of the country.
IE – we wanted to just stay with standard or daylight time …

So, scientists have finally realized what the rest of us figured out decades ago? I need to start applying for grants to study stupid things our government does. Maybe that will stop the insanity.
&SB, with UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) there would be no DST so the difference between UTC and PST would be 8 hours. Midnight would be 800 hours and Noon 2000 hours.
Back on the USS Ustafish, whenever we went on patrol, we switched to Zulu time, as soon as we dove. It didn’t much matter since we were on an 18-hour watch rotation, and we didn’t have to adjust for any time zones changes. We usually had no idea whether the sun was shining on the surface. Our only clue was if the Control Room was rigged for red, we knew that it was dark, and we were either at periscope depth, or were planning on going to periscope depth.
Nevertheless, once we got back to port, our clocks were back on local time. UTC was fine underwater, but most folks expect their clocks to match the position of the sun. I suspect getting people to accept UTC will be a much harder task than dealing with twice-yearly time changes.

Scientists gonna need to start releasing their reports free to the public so we can verify anything they “recommend”.
After the covid debacle, scientists need get their reputation back. It starts with being completely open and transparent about everything which means releasing every study for free to the public so it can be reviewed and verified by non-biased citizens. Their recommendations affect our daily life, and we do let scientists dictate our lives. We are not a technocracy.
Not going to watch a YouTube video by CBS “news” lol what a joke both organizations are.

I think DST starts a couple of weeks too early and ends a couple of weeks too late. Other than that, I’m quite happy with it.
Tennessee has approved turning what is currently called Daylight Saving Time into Standard Time and keeping it year-round. I wish Congress would go ahead and approve it so it would go into effect before next fall.

Didn’t we already vote in favor of getting rid of time changes some time ago?
I am at the point where I don’t believe anything anymore … and if I want to know something … I will go ask an old person above age 90 … they know stuff!
Also … years ago I struggled with sleep becauae I believed the BS about we must get 8 hours solid every day … nonsense … I sleep when I am tired and take dozens of micro-naps theoughout the day … #dontbelievethehype
@JoJo The Circus Clown….Being a late shift/graveyard worker most of my working years, I agree with you. Being retired I still keep those hours. I was always a night person, even as a kid, it drove my parents nuts…Sorry Mom and Dad.

It’s amazing- now any time I see anything saying “scientists” “experts” etc I automatically assume it’s total lies made by some wuss that is in someone’s pocket or trying to earn points at the woke table. This probably has nothing to do with that… don’t care. It all goes in the same bucket.

Maybe apply for a new grant to study why kids fall off bikes. I know there was a prior one but never heard anything about what was found.
I’m good just leaving it at Standard Time…
UTC is good for me too…………..
+1
Problem is most people (including techs) don’t seem to understand UTC but it’s very fitting in a modern world. Time is relative anyway.
UTC is good for me too! Locally, 0700z is Midnight, and 1900z is Noon.

jprcards~Yes, Yes we did!!
but it still has to be approved by the FEDs… They dont seem to be inclined….
S – states can opt out
Keep standard time and ditch DST. I like my mornings bright!
DST is a control measure.
I keep seeing people driving around in their cars with masks on. Those people are controlled.
We have to change our clocks to get to work on time.
Otherwise, many of us wouldn’t bother.
The government likes controlled people.
CA is one of the most controlled states.

Since Covid, anytime “Scientists claim” is used in a sentence there is a reasonable probability it’s politically manufactured propaganda.
However if a scientist said “best take scientists with a grain of salt” that guy would have pretty solid credibility these days.
The grease ball proclaims endlessly that we all must trust the science.
But not this time…
Mmmm ok we voted and won to get rid of it in California. But “politicians” are moving at snail pace on this specific topic 🤦🤷♂️
No, people voted to KEEP dst. This is about getting RID of dst and sticking with standard time year round.
You think they’re still moving…I don’t. Seems to me…they just turn their pretty heads and walk away.
How does anybody really know what time it is?
Does anybody really care?
about time?
