Good Move! Clayton Safeway Installs Barriers Outside Of Front Doors

Clayton Safeway on Clayton Rd. at Kirker Pass has installed permanent barriers in front of their entrances.

The move comes after an unknown suspect destroyed three doors and two railings by driving into them on two different nights this week.

The same person, according to police, is also responsible for destroying five garage doors in a Pleasant Hill neighborhood on Wednesday night.

The vehicle was previously described as a silver Pontiac, but after the investigation, authorities are now saying it was a silver or gray VW Jetta with damage to the rear bumper.

Thanks to Todd for sharing the picture of the new barriers with us.

I’m not sure the word permanent applies to those barriers. Time will yell.

Indeed, time will tell. But it’s a concrete-filled steel pipe anchored underground, so it’s way more protection than what existed before.

Pretty sad when they have to do this.
Three more years and goodbye California!

Snake…. I thought you were a true blue Lib…. You are going to leave California? The most blue state of all?

Dr J you are mistaken I am not lib. I do like this state there is lots to do and see but there to many people and I would like open space for shooting.

I just hope whoever’s doing all of the crashing into doors doesn’t get a bigger car or truck

They did this to Staples on Contra Costa Blvd. a few years ago after a car was used to ram the doors for a night-time burglary.

Yes! And the Treat Boulevard Staples did the same thing at that time, as did Orchard Supply Hardware after a hit there.

As I recall, the very first siege of car-through-door smashings had happened at electronics stores, liquor stores, pharmacies, etc.. Then it spread…. the crash into the entrance to Sun Valley Mall at the Penny’s end (but bollard’s installed across all the center’s entrance sidewalks now). Target optimized a bad situation by putting their signature red ball installations as well as bollards along the entrance curbing.

Really! I wondered about target’s red cannonballs – so that’s why.
Thanks, Antler!

.
Those are called ‘bollards”.

I’m kind of laughing at this whole story, because originally the car was reported as a Pontiac. I guess after crashing through a few grocery store doors it was then reported to look like a Volkswagen. Hehehe

In the spirit of discouraging vandalism, they give us Spirit Poles!

Im happy that the brentwood cop dog tore off her scalp, she deserved it. Ban her from receiving $1000/mo in taxpayer funded welfare $$. Ban her from KFC. Those people been on it all their lives, their whole family on it. They are “takers” thats why they love to rape rob and steal. CUT THEM AND OFF of foodstamps and AFDC.

Time to go ram another Safeway.
A VW Jetta? Seriously.
