The following information is from the Concord Police Dept.:

An alert citizen observed two transient subjects exit a vehicle parked at the end of Franquette Avenue.

One of the subjects was carrying a long, black rifle.

Both subjects than walked to the open space at the end of Franquette Avenue. CPD officers arrived and requested a drone from the Walnut Creek Police Department.

The two subjects returned back to Franquette Avenue and the subject holding the rifle dropped it once they observed CPD officers.

The rifle was determined to be an airsoft that was almost indistinguishable from a real rifle.

Both subjects were arrested on several charges.

Haha. Useless. So a cite and release ticket to pad their stats. Doesn’t do anything but act like good PR to the blind public.

IF that had been a real rifle, those two could have killed someone.

The Police did a spectacular jog rounding up those two and getting them off the streets.

What the DA does is another thing.

The Police did another great job protecting the good people of Concord.

The humanity … !!!

Looks more like a real air rifle than an “Air Soft” toy rifle.

Non Story, more on… Sad thing IS: Probably more of a crime for the BB gun than the crack PIPE which is the REAL story here.

It said, “Both subjects were arrested on several charges”; but, other than possession of a (meth?) pipe, what laws did they break?

Shooting an airsoft rifle in an open, secluded area with a buddy seems like good clean fun.

They must have walked down to the river area. Not a good place for a rifle. What were the other charges?

What was the charge? Possession of a toy?
