Nearly all of the Bay Area’s 11 counties lifted their indoor mask mandates today.
Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Sonoma and Solano counties and the city of Berkeley all dropped their requirements to wear a mask indoors.
Masks will still be required in health care facilities, homeless shelters and on public transit.
Masks are also required in K-12 schools.

The irony…the vitriol and vilification of the unvaccinated will be felt by those vaccinated who feel safer wearing the mask as they will be pegged unvaccinated!
Don’t be silly, Pancho. NO one would mistake a masked person as unvaccinated… unvaccinated people aren’t that considerate. It’s the unmasked people in stores who you need to watch out for.
Mandates have always been worthless, except for virtue signalling! Masked and vaccinated people can still catch covid and pass it on the other people, whether or not they were vaccinated or masked.

It’s time we do the same in contra costa. Clean house on the BOS, the school boards, superintendents, mayors, department of health, EVERYTHING and EVERYONE that followed orders or was complicit. Following orders is not an excuse. That goes for the sheriff and any law enforcement that upheld orders from tyrants instead of the constitution.
They will not slip quietly away for a few months just to impose restrictions again in September when the next “variant” shows up, or perhaps they will move on to fear mongering with the bird flu.

The question isn’t what have I not been able to do, the question is what gives you the authority to decide which citizens get to work and who doesn’t? Who gets to go to school and who doesn’t? could list more but I’ll stop.
You can ask me how they were illegal and wrong, but the burden of proof is on you and everyone else that enforced and supported these lockdowns and mandates that wrecked the economy and peoples and their children’s physical and mental health.

Key phrase missing here is “for the fully vaccinated”. Those who are anti-vax will continue to get infected and spread the virus, perpetuating the pandemic.

So you really believe that breakthrough cases, that is people who are vaccinated but become infected anyway, cannot transmit Covid to other people both vaccinated and un-vaccinated? If that is true why was it necessary for Booker and Warren or anyone else for that matter to quarantine themselves?

I don’t know if Phil is trolling or not. But even if so, there are so many people out there that believe his statement and that astounds me. Despite all the evidence at their fingertips that the vaxxed are spreading at the same or nearly same rates as unvaxed. Despite probably half of their vaxed friends having caught omicron in the last two months. Despite the countries with higher Vax rates, and places like Gobraltar with 100% rates all having suffered major omicron spikes on par with ours.
The ONLY thing the Vax does for certain is decrease the risk of severe covid and death for the people that take it. MAYBE a slight decrease in transmission rate. Everything else is nonsense. But it’s state approve, corporate media propagated nonsense, so it’s not considered “misinformation.”

The masks that most people have been wearing probably do little good in the face of the current form of the virus so dropping the mandate makes sense. But the positivity rate is still quite high and so avoiding crowds and not hanging out for long times with others is still wise.

I too thought that the mask enforcement was up yesterday. There was only one place where I was asked to wear one and if people were mad, well then, as you say: “too bad, so sad”. Weird how for some not seeing others not wearing a mask has become an eyebrow raiser yet crime continues to get out of hand and it’s even being normalized.

The real question is For How Long?
I can’t help but admire how our all-knowing political leaders know the exact timeline (date and time) when we are safe from Covid, yet, they still have to inform us how this virus developed and how it got out of control. I don’t remember hearing anything regarding the specifics of it.
The Covid health screening questions asked by medical providers before deciding whether to accept a patient are so broad that they serve no real purpose, except for making some feel as they are doing something important or being cautious.
Wish politicians would work on protecting us from the rise in crime and cost of living.
Covid isn’t the only thing that could kill us and many people have had their health problems worsen due to all these hoop jumping mandates.
Good timing by the politicians – which, btw, ties in with the midterm elections.
