A handful of state legislators, including some from the Bay Area, announced the formation this week of a COVID-19 vaccine work group focused on developing policy that will encourage people to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
The work group includes Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, as well as Assembly members Buffy Wicks, D-Oakland, and Evan Low, D-San Jose, and plans to work with medical experts to determine the best methods to encourage vaccination against the virus.
“Getting our vaccination rates up is our best chance of preventing more death and disability across California, and I’m so proud to unite with this group of legislators to advance data-driven policies that will save lives and protect the people we serve,” Wicks said.
Founding members of the work group also include Sens. Dr. Richard Pan, D-Sacramento, and Josh Newman, D-Fullerton, and Assembly members Dr. Akilah Weber, D-San Diego, and Cecilia Aguiar-Curry, D-Winters.
As of Thursday, 81.2 percent of state residents age 5 and up have received at least one vaccine dose. In addition, 51 percent of those eligible for a booster vaccine dose have received one, according to state data.

Any legislation involving Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) should be suspect of government overreach or unconstitutionality.

Millions of Americans have heard about the shots for months, and have decided they’re not getting them. Let it go. No amount of discussion is going to convince those who have objections and convictions about the shots to suddenly get them. Move on.
Let them keep poking, there’s not enough media propaganda in the World to overcome our Resolve.
The more they push, the Stronger we get. In fact, it’s actually waking up those who were on the fence.
Their stock portfolios waning? They must hold Pfizer and Moderna stocks. Conflict of interest? The rest of the world says the pandemic is on it’s way out.
How about we secure our boarder and stop allowing unvaccinated to come in, not be tested and then we ship them al over the country to consider their claims later…oh yeah, they are going to show up for those hearings….People should not be forced to get a COVID shot. I chose to, but each person should have that choice.
Encourage … hmm … is that why we are now allowing 12 yearolds to get vacinated without the need for parents approval?
I believe this is more of a force them to comply ….get the kids to turn in their parents who have not been vaccianted. Get the kids to show their papers …

When will people realize all of this isn’t about a virus? It is about government control and whatever liberties they take will not be returned. They have designed the perfect problem so they can deliver the perfect “solution” while using this to rob citizens of their individual rights and autonomy and to brainwash our youth to fear each other and trust the corrupt politicians; to indoctrinate them that this level of government interference is normal.

The CA state legislature is quite possibly entirely illegitimate.
With motor voter laws in place for several years whereby illegal immigrants were registered to vote when they went to get their drivers licenses, it is possible that there are 2 – 10 million illegals voting today which is a felony.

While the county board is spending money on their own raises and on Marxist pet projects like the office of “racial equity”, many residents of CCCounty have been disenfranchised from the electoral process because their legal republican votes have been cancelled out by the illegal aliens voting democrat.
It is known and been documented that our voter rolls are out of date and out of compliance with federal standards.

Let me see if I have this straight – The jab doesn’t prevent illness, doesn’t prevent transmission, and subsequent boosters have proven to produce negative protection against covid, so liberal leaders want to make sure everyone gets jabbed and keeps getting boosted? Seems to me the doubling down on this strategy isn’t about keep people ‘safe’ and ‘healthy.’
If someone comes to me and tells me to vaccinate myself, I’ll kick him in the ass! I’ve had covid twice so feels vaccinated with the natural dose.
If people don’t want this to happen they need to take action.

Why would anyone still consider getting this injection that’s still not approved and under the EUA? Without the booster, there’s a 4% protection against Omicron, but with the booster, it’s 64% effective. If 64% was grade in college, that’d mean no credit for you. If Omicron is mild, why risk the unknowns of how your body may respond to an EUA? There is no long-term safety data on this and yet, people are lining up, rolling up their sleeve so that they can avoid getting sick. Ironically, there are two people on staff unvaccinated at work and guess who is getting sick? Vaccinated staff. The two unvaccinated had covid in the fall and recovered in a few days. Do you think maybe good ‘ol Farnitano, Kim McCarl, Candace Anderson, Karen Mitchoff would actually look at England and Ireland’s decision and follow suit in canceling vaccine passports? Truly, why do we have vaccine passports if the vaccinated are capable of contracting and transmitting? Do you know why they refuse to budge on this? Follow the money. We are not in this together. Just look at who benefited from this pandemic: Musk, Bezos, Gates, Buffet, Google, Facebook, etc.
