Concord Police are investigating what appears to be a Thursday evening attempted robbery in downtown Concord, according to witnesses.

One witness, Dakota Blackwolffe, explains what occurred:

Transient male (suspect) tried robbing the victim in Todos Santos for his bike. The suspect shot the victim 3 times with the gun which turns out to be an airsoft gun.

After the victim retreated, he then proceeded to chase the suspect to the Exxon Station at East and Willow Pass.

There the suspect hid inside and asked the clerk to call 911 because he was being chased.

It’s currently unknow if anyone was injured, and no further details are available at this time.

Thanks to Dakota Blackwolffe for taking the time to send the photo and the report from downtown Concord.

It’s terrible when reality ruins a plan.

Wow, big uh courage on the part of the guy defending himself.

Hide and go seek: on hardcore mode.

What is happening to Concord?

When did Concord become this freak show?

Anywhere homeless drug addicts congregate is a freak show.

“Concord…where families come first.” Safe, sound and a great place to raise your kids.

When will the shooter press charges against the man who chased him into the gas station?

“I was preserving my right to buy Doritos”

This will get worse with the growing homeless in Concord. Thank you Democratic party. Hey Claycord, why not a story on the camp on Monument?

… so many drugged out homeless in that area…. if he’s not out already he will be shortly

Transients aka bums are the biggest problem plaguing concord today. And the police avoid them turning a blind eye to all their crimes until the media catch a hold of a story they are forced to act. For example illegal camps that start fires, people being murdered by them throwing rocks off the freeway, murders in shopping centers, widespread theft etc.

You are acting like an ignorant assumer.

Schmee is totally on point here. I was a paramedic in this area over 30 years. The homeless are mainly mentally ill and many are addicted to drugs. They will steal or rob to get money for their fix. It is the wild west in Concord now.

@Calhoon – I don’t understand your comment, imo Schmee’s comment is probably around 90% accurate.

Amercian citizen & Schmee .. +1

Concord best step up and make the city safe again. Citizens need to be safe lest you forget those of us who are over taxed to pay for all the frivolous causes out there.

Clean house and it starts with city council members who think they are owed a job and take advantage of their position. We can vote you out. Clean up crime and the homeless.

Thanks to DA Diana Becton, it’s the wild west out there, always be prepared. Fortunately, I am HR218.

I’m actually laughing at this, some dufus pos uses an airsoft gun, and he doesn’t get the living crap beat out of him by the victim when he’s Chase down cornered and caught?
No need to dial 911 the victim should have beat the living crap out of the guy broken a few bones bashed his head in and walked away.
You don’t bring an airsoft pistol and pretend to be Mr bad tough guy.

This druggie bum is lucky this was not a county that allows persons to carry concealed weapons for protection. The minute he pointed an Airsoft Gun at a armed citizen, he would have received a 9mm projectile traveling at 1200 fps. Citizens need CCWs. The police do not care about crime anymore.

45 ACP > 9 mm. Change my mind! 😉

@xj – it’s not about the size, it’s how good you are with you’ve got.😁

Practice, practice, practice…

Where in downtown Concord??

90% of the homeless are not these “nice, poor little souls, who run into misfortune”
And most are mentally unstable because of their drug use! The problem is not going away no matter how many millions we throw at it..
They need a kick in the butt, and be treated like trash. That’s the only way that they will try to change. But right now people don’t over them and give them money and kindness which just perpetuates the lifestyle.
Come on, most are strong younger men that surely could work digging ditches for the Union. I am totally fed up with them especially how you hear more of them are killing people now too

Why are homeless drug addicts allowed to walk the streets? It is uncivilized. Think about it. Why is this allowed? Build a military type tent city in an area where it cannot be seen with a fence around it and start filling it up. When that fills up build another on. Why is the government allowing are living standards to deteriorate? Have we lost all sense of order?

Pesky human rights! Standing in the way of what needs to be done.

Richardoh, because the Ninth Circuit decided the homeless encampment issue in Martin v. Boise, which says that if a homeless person druggie is removed from the street the government must provide that person a bed. No provision of beds means bums stay on the streets.

Why are there Police with Weapons Drawn?
What about the Social workers & Counselors??

Concord has always had to take the brunt of the homeless/mental health/transient/drug addict issues. One of the best Police Departments around. Concord PD knows exactly what to do and do it and have for years before WOKE, before COVID before the times we are currently living as many of you know, who have lived here for years as I. I will never have enough good to say about the Concord Police Department. @Badge 1104 you are correct…@Jeff Thank you!

I don’t think you can say – anymore – that the Concord Police Department is anti-drug. City Officials, led by City Valeria Barrone, and bigwigs at the Concord PD, have entered into a “partnership” with these pot dispensaries. Barrone gave the green light to more pot dispensaries in Concord, and as I understand it more are on the drawing board.
City officials in Concord want ppt sales to boom in Concord, so do police officials. The fact that these stories draw a criminal element – and are frequently robbed by gun toting criminals – doesn’t seem to bother Valerie Barone or Concord Chief of Police, the most important thing is to get that money from the drug sales flowing into City tax coffers so the people working at the City and the PD can continue to cash those bloated paychecks.
I don’ t know about others, but I am old enough to remember when Concord PD used to send “DARE” officers to public school for the purpose of discouraging kids from getting mixed up in drugs. Sadly, today police officials in Concord are actually going into a kind of sick “partnership” of with these local pot dispensaries. City Manger. Valerie Barone -and our PD Chief – want to see more and more stoned and stupid people in the community. Is Concord so broke it needs to go in the pot sales business?

@Lars Anderson…”…and are frequently robbed by gun toting criminals…”….It seems that exponentially more bank and liquor stores get robbed than pot shops. BTW…your comments are as mundane and repetitive as your classes at El Dorado Middle School in the 60s, you must be an old codger now.

I am not this teacher who taught in Concord, he died several years ago, we have the same name. I think this business of the City of Concord and the Concord PD becoming partners with pot dispensaries is not a good thing. The Mayor of Oakland, after she was booted out of office a few years back, went into the pot dispensary business with her physician husband. So has ex-Congressman George Miller, he and his family have used their political connections to open up a pot store in Martinez, and they have more stores on the drawing board. I think these ex- politicians have completely disgraced themselves. By there actions they have shown that they are just cheap two bit hustlers.
I voted for Congressman Miller several times, I cannot believe he would stoop so low as to get involved in the pot dispensary business. Miller is showing the world he is just a big loser flake. I mean they’re arelot of other businesses he might have gone into, businesses that are a credit to the community, businesses that do good. Instead he is working to help people have easy access to getting stoned and stupid, while simultaneously helping young people to move on to harder drugs. Pot, of course, is the gateway to harder drugs. George Miller’s once pristine reputation has been totally destroyed in my view. Miller is a drug dealer now!
Additionally, this revenue from the post stores is going to only flow into the pockets of over paid City of Concord workers, who are fleeting Concord taxpayers at a level that is almost unbelievable. Anybody who follows Concord politics closely knows the entire city budget is eaten up by the bloated salaries of city workers, Concord is a totally corrupt city. If the city budget tripled tomorrow city officials would claim the city was broke, and while they were making this claim they would be giving themselves big fat raises for the work they are not doing.

@Lars Anderson…Your response just verifies my previous post….wash, rinse, repeat, yada, yada, yada. You claim pot as being a “gateway” drug, I would wager that “pot heads” drank alcohol before becoming “addicted” to pot. It’s fun to look back on those days and attitudes from long ago, it’s sad that someone can’t learn to move on and have an open mind now.
