Two female suspects were arrested for allegedly trying to steal more than $1,000 worth of items from a cosmetics store in Concord, police said Thursday.
The theft was reported at the Sephora store in The Veranda shopping center on Diamond Boulevard.
The pair concealed the items in the baby strollers and left without paying, but officers stopped and arrested them and recovered the stolen merchandise, according to police.
The names of the two people arrested were not released.
They have not earned the privacy of not having their names published.

I followed this crime on my scanner. Dispatch stated they are two Middle Eastern women, one from Rancho Cordova.
They obviously failed their math class. Most looters know how to count up to $950!
$1000/2=$500. That is way below the threshold for a felony so they will not be in jail.

That said I’m sure they are fuggly and needed the cosmetics. Based on the DA’s artificial “needs defense”, no felony charges will be forthcoming.
They both committed the crime so they both are eligible for felonies.
Bank robberies are not divided by the number of perps.

I have no idea what the DA is doing, certainly not holding criminals accountable for their crimes.

“The pair concealed the items in the baby strollers…” Notice it states strollers (plural). So did they have a kid or kids with them? If they did, how many they had and what are their ages? Since it is a given that they won’t suffer consequences for stealing, I hope that if they had a kid or kids with them that they at least get charged with child endangerment or enticing a minor to steal.
The baby strollers are probably stolen also.
There is a certain group who whenever I see them with a baby stroller, there is never a baby in it. Just an observation. I didn’t create the stereotype, they did and go out of their way to perpetuate it. Shame on them!
You can bet on the fact that they did not release the names probably because they sounded African American and it would be racist to do that. Don’t forget that black lives matter.
The vast majority of women I see pushing strollers around at shopping centers are actually Spanish speaking. I have seen lots of them doing so at Sunvalley. They drive newer model cars and seem to speak little English; things that make you go hmmm.

I love going to the Sunvalley Mall it’s a great time to have a nice afternoon of labeling people by their looks, smell and attire they wear and let’s not forget the afro displays and fat butts! They all have labels.

Iam glad claycord reported on this. It is about time people woake to the situation. I have seen every way a person can still. Some just smile at you and walk right out the door. Had a customer call the police on a theft, and when the officer showed up he said “You know I cant do any thing about it”. I said ya it called prop 47.
