A credit card fraud alert led to the arrest of two alleged purse thieves Saturday in Walnut Creek not long after the theft occurred in Danville.
Police in Danville responded to a 5:48 p.m. report of a person reporting a theft of her purse at Costco at 3150 Fostoria Way. The victim placed a hold on her credit cards and provided a description of a suspect and the suspect’s vehicle — a white Infinity — to Danville officers, who were with the victim when she received a fraud alert message that some of her credit cards were being used at Nordstrom in Walnut Creek.
Danville officers alerted the Walnut Creek Police Department, whose officers were able to detain two suspects inside Nordstrom.
Both suspects had credit cards belonging to the victim, along with more than $1,500 in merchandise from Nordstrom purchased using the victim’s credit cards.
Danville police took custody of the two suspects — 25-year-old Rashanea Boyd, of Oakland, and 26-year-old Micheala Gospel, of Sacramento — and arrested them on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy, identity theft and fraudulent use of credit cards.
How did they use the victim’s cc to purchase $1,500 in merchandise if the victim placed a hold on the cards?
It had to take time to put a hold on the cards, card numbers, calling the banks, etc, in the meantime, the ghetto trash is hopping around screaming using the stolen cards.
And they were probably released from custody “on their own recognizance” long before anybody read this.
Criminal record of Rashanea Monika Boyd, 25 yo, of Oakland, CA:
2017 – uttering a fictitious check
2018 – burglary
2019 – destroying evidence, possession of burglar’s tools, attempted robbery, parking in handicapped space, attempt to obtain food or property by false pretenses
2022 – conspiracy to commit a crime, robbery, use of stolen credit card (this is the one reported in the article).
I’m sure she will be let out by our valiant DA Becton, with apologies for inconvenience.
Getting welfare checks, stealing, committing crimes, is more fun than actually making yourself into a productive citizen with a actual job. There is no punishment! Even ghetto trash get it! Open season on the honest…
And then her partner does not seem to have a stellar past. Here is from 2017 in Las Vegas….how are these folks roaming our streets?
A woman has been charged with sex trafficking of a child after a 17-year-old California runaway was rescued by a Las Vegas police task force. 22-year-old, Micheala Gospel, was booked Thursday on charges including first degree kidnapping, child abuse or neglect and accepting or receiving earns of a prostitute.
Shocking-not shocking
Would be good to have a fraud alert on our phones for when the Governor slips his cronies our tax dollars.
We would never get any sleep – it would be alerting all the time. The demoncrats are like rust; they never sleep.
I bet Becton already let them back to free-range steal.
A quick google name search of these two brings up multiple felony cases including sex trafficking, eviction, and an application of a PPP loan. Granted may not be these same people but….interesting
Yep!
Seems like kind of a fail for Nordstrom considering they are the target of organized retail crime lately.
Why didn’t they check the ID of the card holder?
It would seem an obvious thing to do considering the amount of the purchase and the sketchy profiles of the people involved.
It is illegal to use another persons card and they could have refused service to these criminals and if they started to cause a ruckus at the register they could have security escort them out of the store or called the on duty police officer over to investigate.
Criminals are watching and this could be a test run for a spree of card fraud
Maybe Diana could come out of hiding and do her job this time?
At what point does the lack of prosecution equal professional negligence?
Can Nordstrom sue the county for employing a professionally negligent prosecutor if there are copycat crimes or second offenses?
Hmm Mitchoff might want to look into that
I think in the furture Claycord may only be allowed to use suspects initials, instead of their full name.
Now they will sue Nordstrom’s for racial profiling….
Put them all in a cage…
Obamavirus
Well merchants can’t require ID on a signed card.
Yeah, that seems si Ridiculous.
Californians throw away so many of their Freedoms……but Don’t Dare Ask them for an ID on a credit card!!
Mine are all signed: ‘Ask For I.D.’
They could be indicted on those names alone.
Any details on the crime that occurred at Costco? Inside the store? Parking lot? Just curious.
Good Police work, lets hope there is follow through w/ the Courts
You know how you try to build up trust?
Good Job police departments !!!!!! That’s some awesome work there!
When I was young I believed some people were destined to be a drain on society. Over the years it’s become clear many people make a choice to be a drain on society. California is infected with elected officials who clearly favor this segment of the population. No wonder business innovators are dumping California. Who wants to hang around with losers?
Remember this next time a suspect runs between the cops’ legs and gets away. Ya win some ya lose some. This was some outstanding police work.
Work camps might have to be re-visited for scum like these two.
Yippie Ki Yay, it’s the Wild West out there, be prepared. 108RS
The criminals run free to steal even things nailed down. Those of us who obey the laws are accused of being everything under the sun by the leftists socialist liberal greenies freeloaders.
Mid terms are coming and many of us are fed up with the way government is giving everything away to everyone and everybody and that includes non citizens and terrorists.
Start laying down what laws that are left on then books and clean up our cities and country.
Just the names alone tell me all I need to know about these criminal parasites. In Saudi Arabia, they cut off the hands of thieves………..
Where are the pictures/photos of these career criminal “females”??
Remember the scene in “Live and Let Die” where the Sheriff says, “I don’t suppose this is exactly your debut at this sort of thing.”
Case in point.
