Contra Costa County Cuts COVID-19 Isolation And Quarantine Time In Half

Starting today, Contra Costa County will align with state guidance that recommends shorter isolation and quarantine periods for people infected with or exposed to COVID-19.

Under the state guidance, anyone who tests positive for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status, can end their isolation period after five days if they subsequently test negative and don’t have symptoms or their symptoms are improving.

The test must be done on or after day five of isolation. Previously, the isolation period for positive cases was 10 days.

Quarantine periods for people exposed to someone with COVID-19 have also been shortened to five days under certain circumstances.

People unable to get tested during quarantine or isolation should remain at home for up to 10 days.

These state guidelines are for the general public and not healthcare workers, who have their own isolation and quarantine guidance. K-12 students and workers should also check with their schools and employers about requirements for returning to school or work since state guidance may differ for those settings.

So is this a case of unsettling the settled science, or settling the unsettled science?

I am surprised. I figured they would want to be the strictest in the nation, which seems to be their goal with ridiculous mandates

Training the public with carrot sticks.

Keep us guessing all the time. I’m sure Karen Mitchoff will have a rant about this.

Actually, they brought in an inclusive, diverse, intersectional group of anti-racist scientists to make this decision – it is the first true scientific decision ever since all 50900000 genders and races were represented in the process.

.
The statistics provided on many websites are misleading at face value….
.
What part of the data show hospitalizations WITH Covid or DUE to Covid?
.
Simply stating or citing “cases” only feeds the hysteria.
.

anyone listening? It;s like a bad parent who yells too much at their child and they stop listemimh.i

On a side note…Walnut Creek ice rimk had an overcrowded rink full of unmasked skaters bumping into each other last night .Should xhange its name to Moronic Carrier Central.

And the majority on the ice rink have spoken..
Change the rinks name to, don’t fall for the booster bs and mask mandates on ice.
Hey Newscum your mandate ain’t legal and many ignore it..
Oh yeah the public don’t have to skate with the unmasked it’s their choice.

follow the money.

all government is theft.

Quick!!! Kick the field goal before the post move again.

Not my clowns, not my circus.

Quarantine, schmarantine,

If we feel ill, we stay home. If we dont, we go about our business. Don’t need any test for that.

Morons abound.

So if you go to volunteer to be tested anywhere, school, work, a place where they demand a card or test, or anywhere, where does the record of the result go? Are the people who swab you sworn to HIPPA like a healthcare provider?

I guess medical privacy went out the window almost 2 years ago. I don’t see them testing everyone who walks through these test areas for other communicable diseases….isn’t anyone paying attention?

Changing it to half length now is admitting that it’s been twice as long as needed for 2 years. Think of all those millions of lost productive hours, billions in $$$$, tax revenue..
