A man was in serious condition after being shot Sunday night while driving eastbound on Highway 4, just west of Baily Road near Bay Point.
The California Highway Patrol was called to the scene at 6:45 p.m., where paramedics were already working on the victim. He was taken to John Mur Medical Center in Walnut Creek. His injuries were described as not life-threatening.
Authorities had no information as to whether the gunfire came from another car or a fixed position near the freeway. The CHP asks that anyone with information about the incident call Officer Adam Lane at (925) 586-1879.
I’m sorry, but I will no longer travel that stretch. We have friends out in Antioch but we will not drive out there anymore. That’s stretch of road is not just dangerous because these shootings but people drive like absolute maniacs. They are the ones doing the shootings. And it’s always similar type cars, sorry to say like Dodge chargers, older BMWs for Mercedes sometimes mustangs. But they all seem to have tinted windows and custom wheels on them. Even feel a little bit uneasy on the 242 section in Concord, where a lot of the highway 4 drivers split off to. I feel for people that have to drive that every day.
I had the scanner on a few months ago. The CHP clocked a guy in a Charger doing 140 on Highway 4.
.
Is anyone else surprised by the location?
.
… I didn’t think so.
I have noticed Dodge Chargers being driven by a certain demographic. I just sold my Mustang Bullitt because I needed the money. This isn’t a movie freinds, this is real life in your neighbohood.
Im sure it was just a misunderstanding and the shooter needs a hug. Maybe the victim asked him to do it, and it was his fault, lets give all the criminals hugs….in fact I hope social services was called instead of the police..
lets count the shootings until 2022 on Highway 4 shall we? Since my post was doubted for accuracy of the road rage….. you folks had this coming. You start questioning victims you will find yourself one, one day and we shall question you too.
