The Contra Costa County Public Works Department has issued a permit to Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to trim trees and remove brush along the Iron Horse Trail.

Tree removal will not be part of this project.

This annual, routine work is scheduled to begin on the week of December 27 in Danville and unincorporated Alamo.

The trimming will continue the week of January 3, 2022 in Walnut Creek and Concord.

Work will occur between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday thru Friday, and is expected to be complete by the week of January 22, 2022, weather permitting.

This work is to improve trail, fire, and general safety along this portion of the Iron Horse Corridor. The trail will not be blocked to pedestrian or bicycle access, though PG&E contractors will be pruning trees in the area. Trail users may encounter some minor delays as contractor vehicles access the trail area.

Did anyone get a letter from PG&E about Time-of-Use rate plan? I’m not really sure if this is a good idea.

Bill, if you go online to PG&E’s website,
They can give you an idea as to which rate plan you to be on to save the most money.
(I’m sure they could probably do that over the phone with you too)
But tracking what your usage has been and with the different rate plans are they could put you on the one that’s most favorable. This is not automatic you’ve got a request it.
But I was thankful and appreciative that they will do this for you. Save me a few hundred a year.

I know PG&E is not the best run of companies but why is it their job to remove trees especially if they were planted and grown after the wires were put in.

Got it today. If you can’t shift your usage to the non-peak hours, you WILL pay more.

I stuck with the existing plan.

+1

+2, I am home during those peak times, so I would be penalized. I opted out.
