State Files Lawsuit Against Walmart Alleging Illegal Disposal Of Hazardous Waste

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced Monday that the state has filed a lawsuit against Walmart over allegations that it has improperly disposed of hazardous waste.

The lawsuit alleges that Walmart has disposed of items like aerosol cans, alkaline and lithium batteries, insect killer sprays and confidential customer information in local landfills rather than facilities that are authorized to receive those types of waste.

According to Bonta, Walmart is estimated to have illegally disposed of some 159,600 pounds of hazardous waste each year for the past six years.

“The company’s behavior is unacceptable, and since it won’t clean up its act, we’re taking Walmart to court,” Bonta said Monday during a briefing to announce the lawsuit.

Bonta jointly filed the lawsuit with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control and the district attorneys of 12 counties.

To be fair, most of their hazardous waste is willingly accepted by customers who then eventually also send it to local landfills.

The state has endless taxpayer dollars to fund these lawsuits and Walmart will simply pass the costs of lawsuits on to their customers.

Even if no one wins the lawsuits I know who loses in either outcome: the California taxpayer.

Except Walmart will make money on this by not paying disposal fees and just paying the penalties which was their plan from the beginning. Slap with them such a huge fine they wont do it again.

Where is the legal action against NewScum and the State of California for the gift of public funds when they gave away $1.5 million of taxpayer money to each of the 10 people for getting the 𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗗 vaccination?

The sad thing is that it cost taxpayers to pursue this lawsuit; and will also cost us as consumers when we go shopping. Why not develop a proactive solution which helps these corporations develop a plan instead of fining them which will simply be carried on the consumers backs. AG Bonta is obviously against the people, let’s get him out of office ASAP.

I’m sure Walmart isn’t the only big box store that’s guilty of this. They’re just going after the corporation with the big bucks. I kinda hope Walmart wins just out of spite.

If this increases the costs to Walmart shoppers, Yeah! As far as I can tell, their business model is for Walmart to very intentionally collaborate with China to turn China into an export driven economy while attacking the US manufacturing sector. They rose to profitability by exporting US jobs, where currency manipulation, authoritarian government, and slave labor makes their products cheaper. According to even old articles like the attached, their business model has cost hundreds of thousands of US jobs. They should be flying the red Chinese flag with the stars on it outside their stores.

That is pure evil.
